• To create a sporting habit for life
• To increase once a week participation from age 14 +

Key funding considerations
• Eligibility – are you properly constituted, with appropriate
governance and financial arrangements?
• Need – can you clearly demonstrate the demand for your
project?
• Prior commitments – we cannot fund projects to which you
are already committed

Inspired Facilities
• Improving and refurbishing community sports facilities
• Up to £50,000 for community groups and clubs, no match
funding requirement
• Up to £150k for statutory organisations, match funding
needed
• Next round opens 4 March 2013

Improvement Fund
• Capital projects to improve the quality and experience of
sport
• Awards of £150,000 - £500,000
• Round 1 focus – artificial grass pitches and swimming pool
changing
• Round 2 date and focus to be announced

Iconic Facilities
• Strategic facilities for at least two sports with ability to
deliver mass participation
• Awards of £500,000 - £3 million
• Current round closes 17 December 2012

Protecting Playing Fields
• Improvement, creation and reinstatement of playing fields
• Awards of £10,000 - £50,000
• Ownership or 25 year lease requirement
• Strong community involvement
• Next round open 10 Dec 2012 – 18 Feb 2013

Small Grants
• Awards of £300 - £10,000
• Formally constituted voluntary groups and statutory
organisations
• New and measureable activity in a recognised sport
• Completed within 12 months of award

Sportsmatch
• Awards of £1,000 - £100,000
• £-£ matched funding from a maximum of 5 sponsors
• Priority to commercial sponsorship, but private donations
and charitable funding are also eligible

• Sportivate – 6-8 weeks of coaching for 14-25 year olds.
