campaign that brings together Okanagan tech sector or tech savvy

companies for some friendly competition and a common cause.

By sponsoring this unique campaign, your brand will be in front of a

wide variety of tech-based companies throughout the region. You’ll also

be actively supporting disadvantaged youth and a growing need in our

community.

ABOUT CODEANAGAN CODEanagan gives disadvantaged youth (age 16-22)

opportunities in the tech sector. We provide learning and

mentorship in tech subjects, from audio engineering and

video game development to Android app development.

CODEanagan ignites imagination and aspiration among

a group of young people who likely wouldn’t otherwise

pursue a career in tech.

Our programs are designed to build confidence, awareness

and skills. They include:

• Coding boot camps

• Mentorship from local tech businesses

• Eight-week Gateway to Tech Course

• Financial awards designed to support participation

SUPPORT FUTURE TECH TALENT100% of the proceeds from the Techathlon will be

donated to CODEanagan, a non-profit program that

helps local youth build tech skills. Together, let’s spark

the future of Okanagan tech!

WHY IT MATTERSA recent report found that the number one risk for the

Okanagan tech sector is lack of talent and skills required

to support growth. We need to bridge this gap for the

industry to thrive.

Many young people from disadvantaged backgrounds

are not exposed to training and career opportunities in

the tech sector. They simply don’t believe it’s a route

open to them. In addition, many young people do not

follow a traditional learning path and require additional

support to help them succeed.
