Urs Pedraita who’s also known as Grisu Grizzly, can be described as a 53 years old free spirit from Switzerland. Throughout his lifetime he proved himself to be an outstanding construction and project manager, so he decided to start his own business as a building consultant. Nevertheless, there’s always been a suppressed longing to challenge himself and see the world. Presumably this longing led to his major successes in long distance riding: two world records in 2014 and 2016.Grizzly’s inspiration for these expeditions came from his passion for outdoor adventures and a slight inclination towards extremes. More than once, Grizzly has crossed each continent by motorbike.

Out of his deep-rooted conviction that women are equal and are able to achieve great things – especially with their mental strength and iron will – he decided to establish this upcoming Women’s World Record 2018. The idea behind this is to let these three women drive the Grizzly Trail 2014 and in particular present the world a new world record holder.

In March 2016 Grizzly started his world ride in Daytona U.S.His mission: Crossing all continents along their longest axis without any support by his side.No Time Stop:121’000 km (75’189 mls) within 119 daysWith Time Stop:78’259 km (48’467 mls) within 72 days and 14 hours

World Record 2014– direct circumnavigation –

Barely back from Siberia the logistical preparations took place.Grizzly started again on the Berner Bundesplatz in Bern (CH).He rode 24’741 km (15’374 mls) within 16 days.

Sibirian Taiga 2013/2014

Grizzly started his first expedition in Bern (CH) on Christmas Eve.

Vladivostok (RUS) was set as the finish line of this 1st endurance project.Grizzly rode 15’000 km (9’321 mls) within 37 days at temperatures of up to -42° C (-43 FH).

North Cape 2014/2015

Fascinated of all these unexpected challenges and the wild nature, Grizzly hit the road again for his second expedition in 2015. Starting in Zurich, he drove all the way up to the North Cape in Norway and back within 106 hours.
