CORVETTES OF FRESNO, INC Is a non-profit organization formed by those

owners who are proud to drive America’s only true sports car

THE CORVETTE

Our club meetings are held at 7:00 pm on the third Tuesday of the month at Yosemite Falls

Cafe 4020 North Cedar Between Dakota & Ashlan on the

East side of Cedar

If you are an interested Corvette owner, we invite you to attend.

The one time initiation fee is $30.00 and covers the cost of your Corvettes of Fresno

window sticker, membership directory, club by-laws, nametag

and many other goodies.

The annual dues are $95.00 per year per couple, or $77.00 per year per individual.

FIBERGLASS FOREVER IS A MONTHLY PUBLICATION.

PLEASE SUBMIT ARTICLES NO LATER THAN THE THIRD THURSDAY OF EACH MONTH VIA

EMAIL TO: [email protected]

The rear view mirror in the 1974

Corvette was increased to a width of 10 inches.

The last true dual exhaust was installed

in 1974. After that, all exhaust gases

were channeld through a single catalytic converter.

The 1974 rear "rubber" bumper was

made in 2 pieces due to shortcomings in

the manufacturing process. The process

was improved the following year, thus

1975-1982 models used a one piece unit.

The big block engine made it's final curtain call in the 1974 Corvette.

1974 was the last year the Corvette

would be produced to run on "leaded" gasoline.

NCM Motorsports Park in Talks with Neighbors Over Noise Dispute

Talks over noise levels continue

between the National Corvette

Museum’s Motorsports Park and its

neighbors, according to Bowling

Green attorney Frank “Hamp”

Moore.

Moore gave the City-County

Planning Commission of Warren

County a brief update during a

meeting last week at City Hall in

Bowling Green.

“We are hopeful that the parties agree,” Moore said.

A trial before Warren Circuit Judge John Grise is set for Nov. 1. Moore said if the parties reach an

agreement before then, it would have to come before the planning commission for its recommendation to

Warren County Fiscal Court.

The negotiations are a result of complaints by residents living in nearby Clark Circle, who have formed a

group called Residents Against Motorsports Track Noise LLC to combat what they call excessive noise

created by vehicles at the park.

The motorsports park counter argues that studies by a consulting firm that deals with noise analysis

found mostly small increases in noise levels that were not “substantial,” according to definitions by the

Federal High way Administration.

The November jury trial would consider possible monetary damages incurred by Clark Circle

homeowners because of the vehicle noise. Judge Grise earlier nixed a temporary restraining order sought

by the residential group to shut down the park.

GM Recalling All 2014-2017 Corvettes For Air Bag Software Defect

General Motors has

announced a recall

notice to fix a defect in

the software that

controls the vehicle’s

air bags. The

nationwide recall

notice effects about

3.6 million vehicles in

the USA including all

2014-2017 C7

Corvettes.

According to an AP report, GM said in rare cases the vehicle’s computers can go

into test mode and the front air bags will not inflate in a crash. It’s also

possible that seat belt pretensioners may not function as planned. GM says the

defect is linked to at least one death.

In addition to all C7 Corvettes, the recall notice “16007 – Frontal Airbag and

Pretensioner Non Deploy” also includes the following GM vehicles:

• 2014-2017 Buick Encore

• 2014-2016 Buick LaCrosse

• 2015-2017 Cadillac Escalade, Escalade ESV

• 2014-2017 Chevrolet Caprice, Silverado, Trax

• 2014-2016 Chevrolet Spark EV, SS

• 2015-2017 Chevrolet Suburban, Tahoe

• 2014-2017 GMC Sierra

• 2015-2017 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL

GM will notify customers with a letter and will provide an update to the

software for free.
