About Joy Children’s Village

HistoryIn June 2011, the Nazareth Joy Children’s Village opened to provide unconditional love and quality support to HIV+/AIDS orphans and vulnerable Kenyan children in a small town an hour outside of Nairobi.

The VillageThe Joy Children’s Village creates a true family for these abandoned children. Our "moms" are trained to develop an atmosphere of Christian love, support and accountability for 7 to 10 children each. Each family lives in a private apartment, sets goals specific to their family, manages a family budget, and anything else you would assume of a typical family...even homework around the kitchen table while mom cooks the evening meal. 

Our model creates an environment of true love and the human touch one can only draw from being in a caring home, intentionally avoiding some of the pitfalls of an institutional model.

Offering Child Sponsorship

We believe that every child should grow up surrounded by a caring family. This is something we seek for each child we bring into the Joy Children’s Village. But we need your help.

The children accepted into Joy Village come from a life on the streets or a home environment of neglect or abuse. Most enter Joy Village suffering from HIV+/AIDS, abandonment or severe neglect. Their needs are significant; the cost is high.

We provide our Joy Village children the appropriate counseling, medical care and education needed to give them the opportunity for a bright future that is not defined by an often horrific past.
