LOg SpLiTTER OpERATiONThe Splitz-it 5-Ton Electric Log Splitter requirestheuseofbothhandstooperate.Theuser’slefthandcontrolsthehydrauliccontrollever,whiletherighthandcontrolsthepushbuttonswitch.Thelogsplitterwillfreezeuponabsenceofeitherhand.Thelogpusherwillreturnbacktothestartingpositiononlyafterbothhandsreleasethecontrols. (SEE FigURE 5)

Splittheloginthedirectionofitsgrain.Placinglogsacrossthelogsplitterforsplittingisdangerousandmayseriouslydamagethemachine.Donotattempttosplittwologsatthesametime.

FREEiNg A JAMMED LOg

1. Release both controls.

2. Oncethelogpushercompletelystopsatitsstartingposition,insertawoodwedgeunderthejammedlog. (SEE FigURE 7)

3. Startthelogsplittertopushthewoodwedgeunderthejammedlog.

4. Repeataboveprocedurewithsharperslopedwoodwedgesuntilthelogiscompletelyfreed.

3. Turnthelogsplitteronthesupportlegsideoverusingaonegallonorlargercapacitycontainertodrainthehydraulicoil.(SEE FigURE 10)

4. Turnthelogsplitteronthemotorside. (SEE FigURE 11)

5. Refillwith3.75quartsoffreshhydraulicoil.

6. Whilekeepingthelogsplittervertical,cleanthesurfaceofdipstickontheoildrainboltandputitbackintotheoiltank.

7. Makesuretheleveloftherefilledoilisbetweenthetwogroovesaroundthedipstick.

8. Cleantheoildrainboltbeforere-threadingitbackin.Makesuretheboltistightenedtoavoidleakagebeforeplacingthelogsplitterhorizontally.
