JUAN SALVADOR LLOBET

Juan Salvador Llobet, also known as SALVADOR LIVE! Was born in Venezuela, and grew up in Miami Florida. Since an early age in Venezuela, Juan had a fascination with the Disney story “Alice in Wonderland.” His fascination of the creativity and fantasy of this film resulted in the inspirational character used in one of his many performances today.

As a child, Juan used to sit for hours watching cartoons, drawing, coloring, and dancing. As he had an interest for the arts he began looking at books about classic artists. Out of many great masters of the past, a few left a great impression, mark and influence in Juan’s head forever; Pablo Picasso, Salvador Dali, Miguel Angelo, Vincent Van Gough, and Disney cartoons.

Juan began a journey experimenting by drawing, painting, coloring, with different mediums like oils, acrylics, spray paint pastels, etc... Doing this, he discovered that he really enjoyed painting abstracts, due to the feeling of freedom it brought him.

At the age of thirteen Juan moved with his parents to reside in Miami, Florida. Living in Miami in the early nineties, Juan was exposed to the hip-hop culture: breaking, graffiti, djing, and rap music. Out of these four elements, breaking and graffiti were the ones he gravitated to.

In high school, he was accepted to DASH, the design and architecture senior high School. Here, he met the greatest dancers and artist in town. Not only breakers and writers, but all types: fine artist, musicians, trained dancers, etc… “Funky people” is what he calls them. At this point he had found the Mecca, a place where he could learn and grow. During this time of inspiration Juan needed a name to gain fame in break dancing and graffiti and became known in the B-Boy world as Heps Fury.

Juan developed in every way possible…A full art scholarship to Miami Dade Community College, where he was trained by Professor Alberto Meza. Meza is a recognized print maker from Florida that was awarded best teacher in the state of Florida years later. After attending three years of intense art training and doing Break dancing shows for the community, Juan skipped out and took a detour by joining a legendary world renowned d break dancing company known as the ” Rock Steady Crew -New York City. HEPS toured and performed with the original pioneers of Breaking and Hip-Hop; Crazy Legs, Mr. Wiggles, Pop Master Fable, and Afrika Bambaataa. Dancing and music were the new inspiration for the up coming artist. Listening and getting down to funk records, electro breaks and Dj’s cutting it up. James Brown “The God Father Of Soul”, was Juan’s’ ultimate favorite in this genre of music. Juan’s non- stop incredible energy fed by the music on the dance floor developed into the hardcore dance style mode and intensity that ultimately landed him the nick name “Fury” by B-Boy Teal Steel. As Heps says “It’s something that can’t be explained… It’s just a pure feeling”. Bouncing between two worlds for 10 years…creating art in the off times… touring the US and Europe performing on the up times. During this time, Juan performed with International artists NAS, Missy Elliot, Daddy Yankee, Black Eyed Peas, just to name and a few, and made TV appearances in shows like, Despierta America, Sabado Gigante, MTV’s sink or swim, and many more. Continually inspired by the world around him and especially by the art of Salvador Dali, his drive to create his own mark as a stand-alone performance artist, has resulted in the creation of Salvador Live! By fusing his Art, Music, Dance and Performance skills, this has become a perfect platform for his own creative interpretations and versions of what performance art is and is now known as Salvador Live!
