Established in May 2001 by the governments of Algeria, Brunei, Indonesia, Islamic Republic of Iran, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, the Russian Federation, Turkmenistan and Norway (Observer)

Objectives

to exploit and to manage natural gas reserves benefit of their nations;

to promote integration of the gas market and its stability;

to protect the sovereign rights of Member-Countries over their natural gas reserves as well as the ability to independently plan and provide for sustainable and effective ecologically friendly development.
