Noteworthy Arrests
Recovery of Stolen Property: •a subject referred to STAT was suspected of driving while suspended •we linked him to the theft of heavy equipment in and around Edmonton•the post arrest interview led to the recovery of over $140 000 worth of stolen property.
Civil Forfeiture of Road Rage Target’s vehicle: •a STAT target was involved in 9 road rage incidents •he was arrested and his vehicle was seized for civil forfeiture under the Victims Restitution and Compensation Payment Act. •This is the first case in Canada in which a road rage subject’s vehicle has been seized.
