In the year under review, SHIDAX and GAlAXY TSC Co., ltd., a prominent catering company in Vietnam, agreed to form a capital alliance. On March 5, 2013, the alliance received official investment approval from the Vietnamese government authorities. SHIDAX is the first foreign-capitalized company to enter the catering business in Vietnam since that nation became an official member of the World Trade Organization (WTO). After forming the capital alliance, GAlAXY TSC changed its name to GAlAXY SHIDAX Co., ltd. Going forward, SHIDAX will offer GAlAXY SHIDAX hygiene management know-how and support for building a food ingredient supply chain while providing operational and technical assistance. We will also step up sales activities targeting Japanese companies operating in Vietnam and help establish a supply chain that includes opening a centralized kitchen (scheduled to start operation in autumn 2014). With respect to business scale, we plan to deliver at least 200,000 meals per day by 2017.

　シダックス株式会社とベトナムの大手給食会社ギャラクシー社（GALAXY TSC Co., Ltd. ベトナム ホーチミン市）は資本提携で合意し、2013年3月5日にベトナム政府当局より投資申請許可を正式に取得しました。　ベトナムの WTO（世界貿易機関）正式加盟後、ケータリング事業に外資が参入するのは、給食業界ではシダックスが世界初となります。また、資本提携により、ギャラクシー社は「ギャラクシー・シダックス社（GALAXY SHIDAX Co., Ltd.）」に社名変更しました。　シダックスはギャラクシー・シダックス社に対し、衛生管理のノウハウ提供や食材サプライチェーン構築実現のサポート、運営・技術支援を実施していきます。また、日系企業を中心に営業活動を強化し、セントラルキッチンを設置

（2014年秋営業開始予定）するなどのサプライチェーン整備を進めることにより、2017年には、提供食数を1日当たり20万食以上の事業規模とする計画です。

In the year under review, SHIDAX began renting the former Denryoku-kan (Museum of Electricity) in Shibuya, Tokyo, and renamed it the SHIDAX Culture Village, culminating in the launch of the Group’s new Sports and Culture Business on April 1, 2013. At the same time, we established and started operating CUlTURE WORkS, the first center of learning in Japan that brings together a fitness club and culture school. This reflects our belief that our duty to society is to nurture healthy minds and bodies and strengthen the bonds between individuals. CUlTURE WORkS consists of a culture school befitting Shibuya’s distinctive status as a base for cultural information dissemination, as well as a fitness club based on a brand-new training concept that emphasizes care and hospitality. Other functions to be performed by CUlTURE WORkS include training lecturers and instructors and conducting R&D on mental and physical health. At CUlTURE WORkS, meanwhile, we appointed Moriyuki Nojo, a prominent creative writer and poet, as head producer. As advisors to the fitness club, we also welcomed Ryota Murata, a boxing gold medalist at the london Olympics; Rie Tanaka, a female gymnast who represented Japan at the london Olympics; and as a partner Hidehiko Yoshida, a judo gold medalist at the Barcelona Olympics. CUlTURE WORkS is committed to providing unparalleled learning programs and a forum for fostering bonds between individuals, with the aim of realizing a high quality of life, which is an aspiration for people of all generations.

　シダックス株式会社は旧渋谷電力館を借り受け、施設の名称を新たに「シダックス・カルチャービレッジ」として、2013年4月1日からスポーツ＆カルチャー事業を展開しています。　同時に、これからの社会に求められることは「健やかな心と身体を養い、人と人との絆を結ぶこと」と考え、日本初のフィットネスクラブとカルチャースクールを融合させた新しい学びの場「CULTURE WORKS（カルチャーワークス）」を立ち上げ、同施設にてスタートしました。　「CULTURE WORKS」では、文化発信基地渋谷ならではのカルチャースクールと、これまでにないケアとホスピタリティーに重点を置いた新しいトレーニング思想によるフィットネスクラブを展開するほか、各ジャンルの「講師・インストラクター育成」、「心と身体の健康についての研究開発」なども行っていきます。　また、「CULTURE WORKS」の総合プロデューサーに作詞家・詩人の森雪之丞氏が就任し、フィットネス部門のアドバイザリーとして、ロンドン五輪ボクシング金メダリストの村田諒太氏、同五輪体操女子代表の田中理恵氏、協力者にバルセロナ五輪柔道金メダリストの吉田秀彦氏を迎えました。　「CULTURE WORKS」は、すべての世代の方々が“ 夢” をかなえ、「上質な人生―― Quality of Life」を実現していただくための、最高の ｢学びのプログラム｣と｢人と人との絆を醸成する場｣を提供していきます。

GAlAXY SHIDAX Co., ltd. has formed an alliance with long Duc Investment Co., ltd. (Dong Nai Province, Vietnam), the operator of the long Duc Industrial Park, which is currently being developed by Sojitz Corporation. In August 2013, GAlAXY SHIDAX started supplying meals to tenant businesses in the industrial park. 　For companies that have set up operations in an overseas industrial park but do not have the scale necessary to provide meals prepared onsite at an in-company cafeteria, procuring meals has been a difficult issue. GAlAXY SHIDAX established and operates a food service center in the industrial park, making it possible for companies unable to operate their own employee cafeterias to provide meals to employees.　The pace of companies establishing operations in Vietnam is accelerat-ing, with 208 Japanese companies entering the Vietnamese market in 2011, a new record high. More than one-third of these companies are small in scale, with investments of US$5 million or less.　Providing benefits to local employees and supplying meals, particularly lunches, can have powerful positive effects, such as improving recruiting and lowering resignation rates. There have even been cases of employees moving to companies with better food, or holding strikes due to dissatis-faction with the meals provided. 　long Duc Investment seeks to distinguish the long Duc Industrial Park and provide incentives for potential occupants by upgrading food services to tenant companies. Such plans are well matched with those of GAlAXY SHIDAX, which aims to provide meals to small-scale plants unable to do so themselves, leading to the business tie-up.

　ギャラクシー・シダックス社は、双日株式会社（東京都千代田区）が展開しているロンドウック工業団地の事業会社であるロンドウック・インベストメント社（ベトナム ドンナイ省：以下ロンドウック）と提携し、2013年8月より同工業団地に入居する企業に食事を提供するサービスを開始いたしました。　海外工業団地への進出企業のうち、工場内に社員食堂を設けて現地調理による食事を提供する手段が取れない規模の工場では、食事の調達に苦労されていました。今回のサービスにより、ギャラクシー・シダックスが工業団地内に給食センターを設け運営することで、自社で社員食堂を持つことが困難な企業にも食事提供が可能になります。

日系企業のベトナム進出が2011年には208件と過去最大となるなど、ベトナムへ新規進出は増加しています。そのうち3分の1以上が投資額500万ドル以下の小規模工場の進出が多くなっています。

そうした中で、現地従業員の雇用に際して、福利厚生の充実、特に昼食を中心とした食事の充実は、採用や離職率の低下に大きく影響しており、食事の優れた企業への転職や、食事内容の不満によるストライキも発生しています。

今回、入居企業に対する食事サービスの充実で企業誘致の差別化を図りたいロンドウックと、これまでできていなかった小規模工場への食事提供を目指すギャラクシー・シダックス社の企図が合致し提携に至りました。
