2011 Program’s Educational Tracks
The “tracks” for West Coast Green represent the core curriculum for the conference. On the following slide are “design principles” that represent the qualities we are looking for within all tracks. As you design your session, think about which track your session falls into and then choose one or more “design principles” that form its foundation.
Business Opportunities and the New Economy
Building Communities 2.0
Clean Tech and Cool Products
Smart Systems
Social Innovation
Water & Energy
Design PrinciplesOur educational program is designed in a non- linear fashion and relies on living systems design principles. We understand that nature is made up of neither linear nor isolated parts, but interdependent parts of a larger ecosystem network. Therefore, we have developed an “Ecotone” model for the development of educational sessions. Wikipedia defines an ecotone as, “a transition area between two adjacent ecological communities or ecosystems). This is part of our exploration of ways for developing a program that is both current and truly meets the needs of the industry. Innovative Design
