Spanish Fashion Dresses in its Wedding Finery

The catwalk at the Santillana Novias bridal fashions show has featured the designs of six of Spain’s best bridal wear designers.

Madrid, Spain, July 25, 2013 - The catwalk at the Santillana Novias bridal fashions show has featured the designs of six of Spain’s best bridal wear designers. The Spanish designers will also be showing off their garments in London in September.

The first Santillana Novias event was supported by the Marca España and was held in the best possible venue – the Palacio Santillana by the Atazar reservoir, very close to Madrid. Creations from six designers – Jordi Dalmau, Ana Torres, Isabel Zapardiez, Rafael Urquízar, Rosario Díaz and Ion Fiz – were paraded on the catwalk, all showing that Spanish bridal fashion is a world leader. This was why the Spanish capital was selected as this international bridal wear showcase.

Spanish fashion continues to win over the world too. ‘Made in Spain. Creating fashion for the world’, will be the name of a new exhibition to be held in London, featuring the creations of Spanish designers. Best of all, this event will see the historic rooms of the Spanish Embassy in the British capital being opened to the public for the first time. Part of the display will occupy a series of formal rooms, including the one that hosted the signing of the agreement to build the Titanic, as well as the glazed vestibule with views out over the garden.

Lucia Cordeiro, the exhibition’s curator and executive director of the Association of Spanish Fashion Creators (ACME), said the aim of the event was to give a snapshot of Spanish design – “a field that is still unknown beyond our borders…. The garments featured in the Embassy are real and modern; they are pieces that allow you to experience the great skill of Spanish designers”, she added,

‘Made in Spain. Creating fashion for the world’ , which runs for three days from 20 September, will include designs by acclaimed designers such as Manolo Blahnik and Sibylla, as well as veterans such as Amaya Arzuaga and Miguel Palacio and young up-and-comers such as Rabbaneda and Etxeberría.
