TAILORED SPACE MANAGEMENT

For over 30 years Space Logic has improved the efficiency and safety of work places in the commercial, industrial and medical field. The following case history represents a project that we have undertaken, and demonstrates the care taken to exceed the often demanding challenges presented by our clients.

THE CHALLENGE

Canberra based Specialty Fasteners have been supplying quality construction and engineering products since 1987. Their product range is extensive and growing. As a result of their continued expansion, a move to a new larger distribution centre was being planned. Specialty Fasteners needed help in redesigning their picking and handling requirements to improve the visibility, retrieval and storage of their range of nuts, bolts, fittings and fasteners, whilst incorporating existing storage equipment.

THE APPROACH

Space Logic, working from the plans for the new facility, scaled up a layout that maximised the use of the new warehouse floor space and allowed for a free flow system of picking and packing orders.

As a special requirement for Specialty Fasteners, Space Logic manufactured a custom beam which took the bottom shelf to the floor. This maximised the space for each rack and also made cleaning the aisle ways easier. Space Logic’s Ultra Steel Shelving and Spacespan Shelving along with a range of plastic shelf containers where used to complete the distribution centre installation.

THE RESULT

This was a well-planned and finished off warehouse. The clean and highly efficient work area has created a really motivating atmosphere for the great customer service-oriented team at Specialty Fasteners. The owners where pleased with the overall service and quality products provided by Space Logic, along with the installation provided by Space Logic’s national install team.
