SPAC DANCE PROJECT @ MALTA AVE and WOOD RD Our theme for this year is… Motown: One Nation Under a Groove JANUARY 23 – FEBRUARY 14, 2018 MEET THE TEACHING ARTISTS! DENNIS MOENCH (Lead Teaching Artist, Broadway performer) Currently the Director of Youth Education at SPAC, Dennis has been developing SPAC’s dance education programs over the past two years under the mentorship of the incredible teaching artists at National Dance Institute in New York City. Previously a performer in NYC for nearly 12 years, Dennis’s last appearance on Broadway was in the 2014 Broadway revival of Les Misérables. Other stage credits include “Robertson Ay” in Mary Poppins (Broadway and First National Tour), “Dennis” in All Shook Up (First National Tour), “Abraham” in Altar Boyz (Off-Broadway), and “Schlomo” in Fame on 42nd Street (Off-Broadway). Dennis has a BFA in Drama from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he studied with the CAP21 studio and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. BARRETT DAVIS (Lead Teaching Artist, Broadway performer) A native of Austin, TX, Barrett trained at Carnegie Mellon University, graduating with a BFA in Acting/Musical Theatre. He joined the Broadway company of Mary Poppins where he played the role of “Robertson Ay” and assumed the position of Dance Captain for the production. Barrett has worked at many different regional theaters over the years, as a performer as well as a director/choreographer. As an educator in dance and theatre for 16 years, he has lead a variety of master classes and workshops across the country and he is delighted to be working with the talented 5 th grade dancers in Ballston Spa! JENNIFER DINOIA (Visiting Teaching Artist, Broadway performer) Jennifer just finished a year run as “Elphaba” in Wicked on Broadway! She has played the role of “Elphaba” in four countries and seven companies of Wicked (London; Broadway; Chicago, tour 1 & 2; Seoul, Korea; & Sydney, Australia), more than any other actress in the history of the show. She was also a part of the original company of We Will Rock You (Scaramouche u/s) and the 1st national tour of Mamma Mia! (Ali u/s). Jennifer’s voice can be heard on WiseMom’s ESL book series and the Killer Queen album (Hollywood Records).
