ADVANCE PROGRAM SWSC 2020 Annual Meeting | September 1-4, 2020 | Ojai Valley Inn, Ojai, CA

SWSC SPONSORED ACTIVITIESWednesday, September 2

7:00am Yoga @ $30/person Indulge your mind and body in a serene one-hour yoga experience located in Ojai Valley Inn’s fitness center overlooking the majestic hillside. Bottled water, mats and towels provided.

1:00pmSWSC Golf Tournament @ $150/person + $63 Optional LunchThe world-class Ojai Country Club was one of the first great golf courses in Southern California. At 6,292 yards from the blue tees, it is a par 70 course with six par 4’s over 400 yards, and three par 3’s of over 200 yards. Designed and originally built in 1923 under the direction of George C. Thomas, Jr. and Billy Bell, the course was hailed as “a marvel of golfing architecture.” Thomas, who also designed courses at the Riviera, Bel-Air and Los Angeles country clubs, had two initial considerations for the Ojai course: “...that the average golfer could enjoy his round without too great a penalty, and that a test must be afforded requiring the low-handicap man to play fine golf in order to secure pars.” Join us for an enjoyable afternoon on the greens!

1:00pmSWSC Kickball Tournament @ $15/person Batter up! Join us for some SWSC friendly competition and play in the second annual Kickball Tournament! All ages and experience levels welcome.

1:00pm – 5:00pmJeep Wine Tour @ $220/person Beep beep! Experience a delicious one of a kind introduction to Ojai’s local libations. This 4 hour professionally guided Jeep excursion presents Ojai’s interesting history -- from its Chumash roots to its current trends (including its growing wine industry). Enjoy sampling wines from a variety of local vineyards, tasting rooms and “watering holes” in the magical Ojai Valley. Journey through Ojai’s unique terrain and enjoy the majestic mountain vistas and agricultural landscapes from a custom, open-air, canopy-covered Jeep (seats 6 guests per car). In addition to stopping at 3 settings for tastings, guests will enjoy a break for a casual stop at an Olive Ranch for a production tour and sampling.

5:00pmMake your Own Pasta Cooking Class @ $150 /person Inspire your culinary fancies and partake in a first rate cooking demonstration and meal at the Ojai farmhouse.Learn the essential techniques to making two types of authentic pasta from scratch. Our chefs will show you how to roll and cut pasta by hand and by machine into fettuccine (a flat thick pasta) and trofie (a short, twisted pasta). As the chefs demonstrate the pasta making process, you will enjoy a gourmet family style Italian lunch including tastes of the fresh pasta shapes created in the class with seasonal sauces that let the flavor and texture of the pasta shine through.

What You Will Learn: How to make egg based pasta dough, how to make flour and water based pasta dough, how to roll and cut dough with KitchenAid pasta attachments to make fettuccine, how to roll, cut, and hand shape trofie. You will also learn about consistency, drying, storage, how to cook, and which sauces complement each pasta shape.

What You Will Eat: Fennel, Orange, and Olive Salad with Rocket and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Trofie Pasta with Kale Pesto Fettuccine Pasta with Creamy Tomato Sauce and Parmesan Apple Crostata with Caramel, Anisette, and Whipped Cream
