If we live individual, selfish lives, that is what we will pass on to our children. If we want a cohesive family life, we must role model it for the next generation. That is exactly what the Bible teaches. So let’s not just read the word, but live and obey the WORD. What an impact that can have on people. Sometimes you don’t even realize it. We wish you all a Merry

Christmas and a Happy New

Year and God’s richest

blessings for the coming

year!

We attended a fundraising dinner for Ruby CC,

just before they had their ground breaking for

their new church building. God is increasing

their numbers.

Kandi’s Komments

While at the fundraiser for Ruby CC on Nov 1st

, there

was a young lady from our church that came over

and said, “When I grow up and get married, I want to

be Kandi & Orvel.” I thought that’s strange, why

would she want to be us? So we asked her. She

said, “Because I want a husband that will always be

there with me and when I see one of you, I always

see the other. You are always together and I want a

husband that cares that much for me.”

I guess we have made an impact of sorts, not the

one we were looking to make, but here, in Barbados,

it is a big one on several counts. One, that a man is

so involved in the church, and loves it, and cares for

it. Two, that couples even come to church together

and more importantly, sit together as a family.

Three, that they support and encourage each other.

As couples, we have to be on the same page. We

are not just raising the next generation, we are their

role models. If we live individual, selfish lives, that is

what we will pass on to our children. If we want a

cohesive family life, we must role model it for the

next generation. That is exactly what the Bible

teaches. So let’s not just read the word, but live and

obey the WORD. What an impact that can have on

people. Sometimes you don’t even realize it.

One proud Papa here.

Preston brought us the Word. (8 yrs old)

They were even dancing in the aisles.

Everyone visiting after church.

Our lovely Thanksgiving dinner at Shawn and

Sharon’s house with Kenroy and Stephanie. A

traditional Thanksgiving meal, well as close as

we could get, with what we had.

Wall hanging given to the Church by Thimbles

and Hoops Ladies group, of Clear Lake Oaks

Baptist Church in California.

We are very grateful and it was well received.

Nov 30 was Barbados’ Independence Day. We

had a fun evening celebrating with our

community and church family.

She was being arrested for stealing sweet

potatoes. Brought the biggest laugh, as one of

our eldest ladies played the police women to

the hilt.

Skits and much laughter…………

Barbados. Women’s team above……

Men’s Team…………

Now the rest of the news………………..

We have been in prayer for over a year now

about what God wants us to do. Praying for a

clear answer as to what He would have us do.

Kandi needs to have a biopsy, which we have

put off now for six months and my knee is

getting worse, not better. I feel blessed to have

made it through the last six months.

We will be moving back to the states the end of

January. The mission will go to short term trips

here in the Caribbean and in the states.

We are already getting invites to other

Caribbean areas for teaching clinics. As soon as

we have gotten back on our feet, God willing,

we will be off again. We will now be based in

the states and will be working out of Nevada,

Missouri.

Kathy is in the process of finding us a place to

live and we are trying to remember what we

even have left in storage. Clearly it will be a

busy few months while in transition, and seeing

doctors. Surely, we would appreciate your

prayers during this time.

Without a doubt, telling the congregations here,

on the 28th of Dec., is not something we are

looking forward to. It will be very hard to leave

the family we have formed here. We have

made lots of contacts throughout the Caribbean

and are ready to set visits with them as soon as

we can.

Everyone knows that time moves on and life

changes and we must adapt and change too.

We use to say, you are never too old to try

something new, and here we are, proving it

again. God willing, we will have a few more

years to serve and health to do it.

Blessings in Christ,

Orvel & Kandi Griffith
