Old Harry Rocks The sheer-faced, dazzling white chalk sea stacks look almost ready to topple over into the sea – these iconic rock formations mark the youngest and most eastern extreme of the Jurassic Coast.
Take a Jurassic Coast Cruise from Poole Quay, for a closer look at the spectacular Old Harry Rocks and the coast beyond

Fossil slab Durlston Castle Visitor Centre, Swanage
Caught in an eerie soup of prehistoric swamp, the fossil remains of fish, sharks, turtles and crocodiles can all be seen in just one ‘tombstone’ slab of limestone rock.
Lulworth CoveA perfect text-book cove, backed by pure white chalk cliffs – on a sunny day you could almost be in a Caribbean bay lapped by a shallow, turquoise sea.
Walk the South West Coast Path: Bindon Hill (circular route from West Lulworth), 3.8 miles, moderate to walk www.southwestcoastpath.com/westlulworth-circular
Nearby fossil interest
Fossil Forest – near Lulworth Cove Relics of a forest that thrived before the first flowering plants appeared – drowned by rising sea levels, the ghostly hollows left by the decaying trees, and the strange rock formations formed by the algae that encased them, are all that is left of this once lush, tropical jungle.
