A message from our Principal

Harmony Day Harmony Day was an opportunity for students to think about the diversity of our culture and celebrate our school community. Please continue to contact your classroom teacher with any questions. They are

also reaching out to you to ensure that your wellbeing and the wellbeing of your

child is being supported by us. Encourage your child to share their learning with

their teacher through Google Classroom and documents or through emails,

Being famous would be the best thing in the world.

Persuasive text- By Laila

Cameras flashing, the fans are screaming for your autograph. Oh what a dream. Being famous would definitely be

the best thing in the world. First of all you would be rich, imagine being able to go out and buy 7 Louis coats without

breaking a sweat about finance. Second of all your mailbox would be flooded with invitations to the Met Gala and

Oscars. Thirdly, you would have enough money to set up foundations and charities to raise awareness for the

world's growing problems.

Let’s face it, in the world nowadays being rich is a great quality. Money has shaped our world and evolved with the

times. If you were famous there is no doubt that you would have a lot of financial backing. You would be able to

afford a mansion in the hills and a chopper, so you can ride with Obama. On top of that, designer outfits and bags

would be a handy thing to have. Whenever you go out the paparazzi will catch you in an outfit that is jaw-dropping.

And the price of that VOGUE cover worthy outfit would be the last of your worries.

We all know it's nice to be loved and recognised, so imagine having piles upon piles of invitations to special events

like the Golden Globe or Academy Awards, and with all that money involved you would definitely rock up in

something eye-catching to wow the crowd. Think about it: imagine being prestigious enough to be invited to award

ceremonies like the Nobel Prize or The Oscars and even if you don't win anything it's all worth the experience. But

that doesn't mean you have to achieve in film or music, a gold medal at the Olympics is just as exciting. You have

worked hard and it all pays off. Take Michael Phelps for example, he is so well known but he didn't get there from

just sitting on his coach, training has gotten him gold medals and he is a household name nowadays.

The world is evolving but that doesn't mean it leaves behind its problems. It's full of issues like poverty and the fight

for world peace. If you were famous you would have enough money and recognition to be able to donate or start a

charity/foundation to raise awareness and money for issues that may arise. A world with support and love would be

so happy and joyful. Imagine being able to help those starving, lonely and sad children around the globe. I mean, if

you have the money and time it would definitely grow your fan base and popularity as well as helping people in

need.

So now it’s clear, being famous would definitely be the best thing in the world, you would be able to attend

prestigious award ceremonies, patrol Las Vegas and New York in majestic outfits and on top of all that, donate to

charities and foundations. So there's nothing you can't do now. Go and put yourself out there, you won't regret it!

Stage 3 Science

During term 1, Stage 3 had been studying Matter in science. We know that substances exist in three

states of matter: liquid, solid or gas. So, Stage 3 conducted a science experiment at school as well as at

home, investigating whether lowering the temperature of a liquid would change its state of matter. We

had to complete a test design and write a hypothesise of our investigation of whether the substances of

water, milk and oil would in fact freeze. We also observed which substance froze first and whether they

expanded or contracted when frozen. There were some very insightful discussions during our online

learning and some ideas that we may investigate at a later stage.

Stage 2 Flower Experiment

On Wednesday, Stage 2 students tried to turn flowers into different

colours with food colouring. We cut open the vein of the flower and

dipped it into the food colouring with water. Nothing happened for

a while until later that day one of the flowers started to change to a

lighter colour.

The next day some flower petals changed completely. One of them

changed to pink, another to blue, and a couple that didn’t change

at all.
