Topics will include best practices utilized across the nation to reduce door-to-needle times, improve patient outcomes, and improve patient and general medical provider recognition of acute strokes and neurovascular emergencies. Discussions will also be held regarding new guidelines released by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association. Other sessions include case reviews, simulation models, panels with experts within the fields of emergency medicine and vascular surgery, and a nursing panel that will offer the perspective of those who are with the patients throughout their entire hospitalization. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of the complex nature of acute stroke and neurovascular emergencies, and what the future may hold for this dynamic field of medicine. Intended Audience: The intended audience for this conference includes primary care physicians and specialists in emergency medicine, neurology, and neurosurgery. Residents, fellows, advanced practice nurses, nurses, radiology technicians, and other physicians with an educational need or interest in this topic may also attend.
