Prayers Jeff Jetton is mourning the loss of his wife, Mary. She passed away this past Monday from a long battle with cancer. Nan Raskopf will have surgery Tuesday at JMCGH. Nelda Owens is now at W. TN Transitional Care, B116, on Forest Ave. Lillian Buck’s father, Joe Nichols, had hip replacement surgery Tuesday at JMCGH. Those in Texas who have been displaced or affected by Hurricane Harvey. Frank McMeen’s mother, Ava McMeen, recently underwent heart surgery in Franklin, TN. She is home now and doing well. Allen McKelvey’s mother, Mary Jo, is now home and recovering from complications following a procedure to have a heart stent put in. Our Shepherds and Search Committee as they search for a minister. Nan Raskopf’s niece is mourning the loss of her husband. David Wright passed away last week, and his memorial service was Sunday.

Arise 2 Read! Each fall there have been a number of Skyline’s members who have worked with the Arise 2 Read program of Jackson/Madison County. These individuals commit to ONE HOUR per week of working with a child who is having reading difficulties. If you would like to commit to helping, please contact James at james@arisejackson.org. ‘All it takes is ONE HOUR per week to change a child’s life’.

new Beth Moore study “The Quest.” Ladies @ 10 - Sept. 12 at 10 am, room 114 - These ladies will start their year

with a luncheon on the 12th and begin their study on Sept. 19. They will be studying the book, I Know His Name, Discovering Power in the Name of God by Wendy Blight. Leigh Anne DeJarnatt will lead this study.

Sisters of Strength (SOS) - Meets 3rd Monday each month, 5:30 pm, room 214. This ladies study is set up for those who work during the day but would like to be in a ladies Bible study class. They are studying 40 Days with Jesus by Sarah Young.

Thank You! Words cannot express the depth of our gratitude for your love and support during Traci’s illness and death. Traci was not able to meet with many of you during her last days, but she always enjoyed reading your cards and texts. You were all such an encouragement to her. In addition, your acts of caring in serving us meals and countless acts of kindness and sympathy were overwhelming. We will be forever grateful to all of you. Please keep us all in your prayers as we face a new chapter in our lives.

Pack The ‘Bus Bank’ for RIFA!

RIFA has asked for Skyline’s help this year with their Snack Backpack program. You can help by picking up a ‘bus bank’ from the box in the lobby, filling it with money, and bringing it back full to church on Sept. 10. (Please place your name on the list if you pick up a bus.) RIFA’s Backpack program provides kid-friendly food to school children every weekend who have little or no food at home.

Fantasy Football League Signup! This is the last Sunday to sign up for Skyline’s Fantasy Football League. The signup sheets are located at the Member’s Corner.
