When planning, we mind mapped out that we wanted to mix a piece of music with the eyes opening and then put faced paced good beat music in to show the upbeat pace of the trailer. WE found all our sound effects on the college’s list of copyright free music, which was a collection of songs and sound effects. After looking around on websites such as ‘ incompetech.com/music/royalty-free/.’ We felt that they were more simple and suited to our film as they were meant for films. When we found the music ‘drowning ‘we liked how it was slow with a low tone. This could metaphorically represent the elegance of the females with the slow pace but the low drowning tone could suggest the snakey plan of the female characters as they are introduced. We chose the sound ‘broken airtank’ because we liked the fast paced jumpy feel of it and though that it would fit perfectly with the scene showing the cocaine and the money in the suitcase/ portraying a night club setting with the strobe light. While editing we will make sure that the music and the strobe light fit together. The way the music changes and goes very upbeat and jumpy we felt like this would match with our fast pace edited and cuts to represent the competitiveness of the drug industry. We also got our sound effects from the file. We used the sound effect ‘heavy stomp‘ in many places. We used it for when the titles of the characters names appeared on screen, as we went for the hyper-reality comic freeze frame look, we felt that a bang sound effect would emphasis this and keep the flow of the edit going. We also used it when the words ‘sneaky;snakey;sultry’ appeared. While editing, I felt that this scene was a little bland but was vital to aid the story line of when the girls take the new drugs and recipe and run away. So I added on the titles. I felt that it fitted with one of our main influences guy Ritchie’s style of editing and made the scene a bit more exciting. I used the same font that we had used previously called ‘IMPACT’ and used a white colour. On the visual effects I added in a strobe light onto the titles just to give it a sense of movement to fit with the running away atmosphere. I found it a little tricky to make sure that each title came up at the same time the word was being said on the voice over and the sound effect of the ‘heavy stomp’ to appear at that time too, but to make sure it wouldn’t be louder than the voice over. I zoomed in on the timeline to make sure it was accurate and added in cross fades.
