When using a plug-in power-typemicrophone, the microphone can be operated

even when its power switch is turned off since

power is supplied from the recorder itself.

The recorder automatically switches input inthe following order; optical input, microphone

input, and analog input. You cannot record

through the microphone while an optical cable

is connected to the LINE IN (OPT) jack. You cannot set the MIC AGC setting if you

are recording with the recording level

    manually adjusted (page 38).

The microphone may pick up the operatingsound of the recorder itself. Use the

microphone away from the recorder in such

cases. Please note that the sound of recorderoperations may be picked up if the

microphone that you use has a short

    connector.

Only the left-channel sound is recorded whena monaural microphone is used.

Make sure not to touch the plug or the cord ofthe microphone when recording with the AC

power adaptor connected. Doing so may

    introduce noise into the recording.

When recording a normal volume sound (softmusic, etc.), set MIC AGC to Standard. If

an unexpectedly loud sound is input when

MIC AGC is set to LoudMusic, the

recorded volume thereafter may drop verylow, depending on the sound source.
