Examples of ridge augmentation with resorbable pins to build up deficient alveolar ridge. The tip end of the screw melts as ultrasound is administered causing the material to flow into the trabecular spaces. Pin is used to secure membranes or titanium or poly D L Lactide sheets to contain particulate bone or allograft

during healing. Larger pins can be used to “tent” defects as well.
