For this issue, it was delayed due to our extensive involvement in

our portal . And we’re glad to announce, we are back babyy!! Thank

you to Najla & hubby for their willingness to share their wedding story

and their love moments. Their love was purely spontaneous and fun

spouses. Purely cute! Thanks you guys!

Weddings has always been a reason to

celebrate the love occasion. Weddings in 2012 has come

with many newcoming trends and ideas which we find quite refreshing

& interesting. Long sleeves & laces are all time favorite thanks to Kate

Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge. Moreover color gowns are back in

trend, we foresee 2012 a year full of love of colors and pastels too!

Decors & props on the other hand has made it bigger than ever.. And

Tangerine as Pantone’s wedding color of the year, succeed in making

Orangish the perfect color to celebrate love whether its day or night!

Happy 2012 and enjoy!

The Magical Monents

Most people imagine falling in love on a romantic island, or in Paris. But it isn’t always a cliché. In reality we meet

our other halves in the strangest places, at the strangest times. I met my husband at a badminton court! Lol

(watch their video to find out how they fell in love)

“If it is true that men are like

stars, with so many to pick

from but only one who can

make your dreams come true,

then Azhar is my one true star

and I can’t wait for the rest of

our dreams to come true”

“ It was at first Serve ”

Family is very important

to my dad as he came from a huge

family. That is why he wanted to have a

whole function just for the family side

first. So we decided to have the event

at my grandma’s place- which would fit

all of them there. Plus we get to do so

many traditional events such as

Merenjis Tepung Air Penawar, Potong

Pulut kuning & more.

The Magical Moments

SA: How was the venue chosen & why?

Bride’s answer: • Lubok China, Melaka was decided by

my dad as he has lots of relatives and

he planned to entertain the family first.

So we decided to have it at my

grandma’s place.

• Dewan Keramat AU2 was chosen by

Azhar’s family due to its ample parking

space, air conditioned hall and its

affordable. It can cater up to 1500 pax.

• The Renaissance Hotel was chosen by

my mom as she prefers the grand

ballroom and spacious hallway for

guests to mix around before the wedding

starts. Plus, we were attracted to the

grand staircase that leads the way up to

the ballroom.

Page 12: Songket Affairs July 2012 Issue

The pelamin was decorated with oversized pearls and diamond-shaped

crystals set upon ruffled white satin for the frame background. In spite

that the event went well, when asked what would she do over for her

wedding, she answered how she was unhappy with the outcome and the

professionalism of the wedding planner. “It wasn’t what we wanted and

what we have discussed before, everything was done last minute and we

were all not happy at all with how she managed the situation.

“THE PERFECT WEDDING POSE:

•Harsh lighting will never be flattering! If you

can feel warm sun on your back and your face

is shaded, you’ll look good!

•Be shot from a slight angle to elongate body

•Hands on hips makes for better looking arms.

Also turn your shoulders on an angle to narrow

your shoulder width .

AUGUST ISSUE

“The Rise Of Big

Flowers”

Page 15: Songket Affairs July 2012 Issue

KL Reception theme was a

Greek garden theme which we

play most of the color with

white especially for the pelamin

and lots of flowers, stand pillars

and a gazebo where it reminds

us of Greek.

It’s a 60th feet wide, five panel

of pelamin , and one gazebo

for cutting cake section. There

were few greecian pillars, 8

light boxes for flower vases.

The fresh blooms consists of:-

white, champagne and purple

roses, chrysanthemum, and

hydrangea. Also there were few

lanterns with candles on the

side. The pelamin was made

by Arma Wedding Couture

We first fell in love with the lavish entrance that leads up to the grand

ballroom. Not only it represent something classy but it also has a large

foyer hallway; perfect for guests to mingle before the ceremony

begins.

Also The hotel is located at the heart of Kl, we feel its right to get a

good location venue for guests to easily get to without much hassle.

Overall, the chef of the night did brilliant in his food presentation!

Preparation Day

Step 1: Gather all your supplies; every bit and piece.

Step 2: Imagine the table area as a scene you are creating. Create

sweet bliss by hanging a backdrop to draw guests’ attention to the

table and ensure it’s the focal point of the room.

Step 3: Arrange containers and the yummy goodies using a variety

of tiers and depths, mixing and matching the treats inside the

containers you have chosen.

Step 4: Doll up your table with trimmings and embellishments such

as labels, candles and quotes that will definitely add a personalized

touch.

Step 5: Add the treats and scoopers to the jars. Take one final look

at the entire table and make adjustments as necessary.

Hint Hint: To avoid guests picking at treats earlier than wanted,

place the goodie bags /container underneath the table at the

beginning of the event, and then place them on the table when it’s

time to start the dessert buffet.

There you have it!… Yummy Goodness!
