FFFrom beginningless time people have looked for God by pilgriming the distance between doubt and wisdom. Walking into the Mountains, following the rivers. Along their journey they have prayed in the temples. They have been blessed by the yogis. They have looked for God in all these places. Those pilgrims for truth have been rewarded by vistas of snow capped Himalayas while Bathing in holy waters. Long peaceful meditations in the golden orange glow of evening. This is Gods way to speak to him self…… Nature. There is one of wisdom’s secrets that is kept in the silence of the heart. There God reminds the pilgrim when he is willing to listen. All this is Me alone. All of this is Myself and is within you. The beauty, the perfection, the temple, the sunset. I am yourself, the very truth within every moment, every step of your journey. In His love

From the very first moment, I knew I had never known like this before.

I, so haggard, yet so willing. From there he took my hand

and lead me far beyond myself.

Wherever I am there he is, wherever he is there I am.

There are not enough breaths, lives, tears; not enough gold.

The debt is too great. Gratitude, however grand, is still too small.

He only gave one command:

“Give everything to them,

live and die for them, enlighten them,

love them and show them the way beyond themselves”.

Duality / Illusion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

16 6

17

m

What stands before you may fool you for sure.

Since what is before you is named and seems to be different.

You could be attracted or you may be repulsed. You may think it is what it is not.

Therefore it is most essential to see beneath

those shrouds of impression and into the eternal sourcelessness.

Other wise

What stands before you may fool you. For sure.

m

Duality / Illusion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

18 8

19

m

This dual natured existence is the domain of heaven and hell. We on earth are caught in-between until we find our way beyond the two, beyond the many here and now, only here and now. Thoughts of me and mine, but not you and not yours, or you and yours, but not me and not mine, are called overflowing illusory mind. Cessation of me and cessation of you is Awakened unobstructed mind Cessation is awareness awareness is the way beyond and into the center, here and now, always here and now. When two sides meet in the center hell disappears into heaven, many disappears into One. Earth exemplifies all of life as the voice of incomprehensibility Here. The sage meets herself in emptiness Now. One vanishes again into me and you Vanishes into many. The way is new every moment, although it is ancient in origin. It is the illusory. m

Duality / Illusion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

20

Meaning is your own creation,

an environment of diversity and possibility. To struggle to be something has meaning. To strive to be nothing also has meaning.

Meaning is like a mirage of purpose, an oasis of ornaments.

To be or not to be.

Without the vision there seems to be lack.

m

10

21

m

Everything that you perceive, good and bad, high and low,

is within you. You can know nothing outside of yourself. What you don’t know is also within you.

All that is, is

within you. All things come to be known

are within you. Whoever you are.

m

11

Duality / Illusion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

22 12

Memory and imagination are here and now. what you see is as it is and is not as it is.......

Grasping this or that gives one a splitting headache and never solves a problem that is rootless.

m

23

m

Out of conflict

13

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

24

There is only one way out of conflict;

through openness.

m

14

25

m Resistance obscures the unobstructed. Truth is unrestricted openness. What is closed is also Truth. When seen with transparent eyes, even a Buddha cannot offer you what you are. Buddha persuades whispering into the current of the dharma mind stream: “Enter”. Enter the way beyond, into and past. Where there is conflict, enter silence Where there is anger, enter release. Where there is confusion, enter relaxation. Where there is fear, enter meditation. Here you will meet the stranger you are seeking. m

15

Out of conflict

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

26 16

“Everything is for you and nothing is against you.”

This is the creed of the wise.

Up and down are simply waves of illusion to be

conquered. What great fortune is this?

It is a fortune insisting to be discovered.

Every moment is an offering to you and from you.

Understanding that this is so,

humility in the form of emptiness opens the I as blame and disappointment disappear.

m

27

m

Desire

17

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

28

It is natural to want. Even the newborn wants its mother. The fields want the day and night. The leaves the wind The roots want the rain. Just enough, not too much The man wants his woman. Too much is not enough. The moonlight wants the night. The whole world is wanting. Desire anoints the turning of the wheel of delusion and increases devotion to the dharma light illumination. As with all things in this two way world, desire is poison. What is natural is also poison. Isn’t that the way it is? Nectar to poison, or poison to nectar in one single drop. To understand this well loosens the binds of mind, opening up and surpassing limit after limit. m

18

29

m

If everything has to accord with your desire, you're already living in hell.

Yield here and now.

Then enter

heaven's gate.

m

19

Desire

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

30 20

31

m

Surrender

21

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

32

Surrendering to possibility gathers strength, therefore

relinquish a cage and open a door with no grip; confusion and rigidity naturally cease.

Clear simplicity remains, and that is all.

m

22

33

m

Accept everything as it is, all of it, every bit of it. Awaken in acceptance, bathe in acceptance, eat it, sleep it, breathe it, touch it, smell it. Taste it, adore it and befriend it. Be it, preach it, teach it. Live it every second of every day.

Start from there and then go on. There is only one true authority:

Life. m

23

Surrender

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

34 24

35

m

Oneness

25

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

36

Stillness is rooted in motion. Movement is constant. Silence shapes sound. Movement and stillness, silence and sound are not two things. Like all things they are undivided This is the origin as well as the end of separation. Realizing this… One is always centered in stillness and action, silence and clamor. One is undivided.

m

26

37

m

There are as many ‘realities’ as there are stars scattered throughout the heavens.

The views, beliefs and angles through which people perceive,

depend upon and refer to, to define their lives, are infinitely diverse.

Oceans of stars and eons of galaxies are suspended in one perfect universe, so too am I.

We, and all of our differences

are composed of and suspended in one

indistinguishable totality.

m

27

Oneness

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

38

Commonness is the highest spiritual experience. Every experience is extraordinary.

Every experience is an experience of God, of

Tao in oneself.

Every experience is phenomenal, a common experience

absolutely un-shattered, undisturbed by singularity or differences,

opens hidden Secrets, Awakens the sleeping.

m

We begin in the same way, in the middle we go different ways

only to end in the same way. This is the way of the beginningless and the endless.

Looking like many, being unique, this is common and true.

Opaque and confused, simple and clear is all the One silence being itself in every little detail.

Going its way in I am until again dis-illusion.

What a beauty.

m

28

39

m

29

Oneness

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

40

Within and without seem to be different but they are the same,

one and the same. Relax the pointing finger.

If not, within is the most important direction.

m

One is One

ordinarily extraordinarily

One. This is the song of merging.

m

30

41

m

Impermanence

31

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

42

What appears to be born appears to die, don’t be surprised.

This is the immutable law of the turning of the wheel.

Whatever time is allotted to you, in this dream of coming and going,

may you use your days well.

Come to understand.

May peace be your comfort and wisdom your best friend,

your very best friend.

May you see less and less of the lines drawn between. May you see more and more the boundless glory

within your heart. For after all, impermanence is faithfully immediate.

m

32

43

m

33

Impermanence

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

44 34

One must endure the sound of words. Get beneath them and beyond them.

Let them go through and understand them. Listen and sense them like a cricket’s song

on a summer night.

The sage is not tempted by words. No matter how sweet they taste

or how foul they smell. Speaking or hearing

is here and gone, hear and gone,

like a cricket’s song at sunrise.

m

45

m

35

Impermanence

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

46 36

Humans unlike any other life expression endure an ego-sense struggle

to fulfill the folly of being something, something at some time to someone, proclaiming to a reflection in a mirror

that I am (this or that or this and that).

This and That adds a little artistically applied make-up to the facade of character.

And yet we know, however much we may add,

that intrinsic beauty is truly not dependent on what can be washed away with water or by time.

m

47

m

37

Emptiness

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

48

You ask why? Emptiness has no voice, has no answer, has no question. Everything is as it is because it is as it is, and that is how it is, and that is that. See how it is? See how it is! m

38

49

m

Emptiness is like a beggar’s bowl, bottomless, without end. No matter what you put in it, everything falls through. Never filled. Never exhausted. Potential is fullness brimming with unspent abundance. It can never be barren or exhausted. Emptiness is potent. Potential is empty. These two are one undivided. An overflowing bottomless beggar’s bowl. That’s what the universe is made of. m

39

Emptiness

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

50

In this nowhere land there is one infinite eternal swirl of emptiness, brimming and radiantly potent. Who gets caught between this vacant thought and that vacant thought? m

Limitations are indistinct lines drawn in an empty thought.

m

40

51

m

No One

41

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

52

Everyone wants to be a Buddha. No one wants to be no one.

Buddhas are everywhere

seated in samadhi throughout infinite universes appearing and disappearing

in wide-open Buddha fields

of illusion.

Buddha is no one.

m

42

53

m

The greatest expressions of creativity occur in spite of the sense

that I am personally the creative.

The flow of creativity is ever present, with or without a me to claim creative exclusivity.

This is what the spiritually mature begin to understand.

m

Going in stillness, remaining forever

stationary in motion.

Here, nothing can disturb,

no one to be disturbed.

Not even in the heat of disruption.

m

43

No One

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

54 44

The sage is vast like a shore-less sea, higher and as stable as Everest.

How can it be that the sage is so dignified, so majestic? Because he is not greater than any one. Therefore he is greatness in all that is. Why is the sage the greatness in all?

The sage is no one. That’s why.

m

55

m

The Sage

45

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

56

At dawn the world is silent like meditation. The busy city is still, like a placid lake.

Light, leisurely devours the last shades of darkness. Only shadows remain to dance through the day,

by the grace of a brilliant star. Way, way above the swallows are diving, swishing,

like dolphins in the sky, blessing those below with trails of simple joy,

simple joy. So subtle, so silent like a sage secretly passing by.

Who will notice?

On the hour, the bells toll, few enter the inner sanctum, while the rest remain asleep.

Still, tomorrow there’s another morning and the sage’s voice rings once again.

Sleep moves deeper with every passing day and hour, another chance gone by. Isn’t that the way it is?

Wave crest.

m

46

57

m

47

The Sage

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

58 48

59

m

Surrender the faithless to the faithful one, whose mirror mind

is undisturbed, deep and empty,

peaceful and ready for storms and rumbles,

for beauty and all that’s in-between.

Lightening striking and rain’s pounding; the lake’s surface is turbulent,

but there is peace in deeper waters.

m

49

The Sage

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

60 50

The wisdom of the Ancients resounds forever and ever.

It is unspeakable, tacit, unstructured and is spoken in words as well. Its meaning is never lost, is never surpassed.

Those who realize it have been consumed by its implications.

Those who have not been, shall be.

Though moons rush by and ions disappear, nothing really changes in the fundamental

matter of being, essence, mind and enlightenment. Like diamonds and water are valued forever

So too, the brilliance of the ancestors and sages

lights this moment, assisting and piercing straight through.

m

61

m

51

Teachings

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

62

The most basic teachings are great jewels. Pristine and uncomplicated they are incredibly precious.

'Simply do no harm to anyone, ever'.

This will awaken every cell in your body,

lighten your heart and bring down the borders

that were never in your mind.

m

52

63

m

When the rains fall, everything is cleansed and quenched.

When the sun absorbs the haze, everything is bright and renewed.

Too much rain and floods rush in, sweeping away and drowning life.

Too much sun and all of life dries up, parched mud, cracked dust.

Not too much, not too little. Not too tight, not too loose.

These potent words were once the Buddha’s master.

Open wisdom of every occurrence is found in the center. Like the heart of everyone resides in the middle.

This is surely the way.

m

53

Teachings

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

64 54

The root of ability is understanding, The root of understanding is insight.

The root of insight is without root. m

65

m

Effortlessness means non-discrimination. All else is effort.

When effortlessness is misunderstood, it means disastrous overconfidence.

m

55

Teachings

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

66 56

Yes, I have always said the same:

"If you include, include everything. If you exclude, exclude everything.

Then and only then have you something intangible to behold."

m

67

m

57

There is beneath the surface (so to speak) an unidentified sense of being,

I am.

This three-letter utterance conveys

the greatest teaching of ego-less totality.

m

Cherishing the seeds of possibility, cultivate them in the furrows of illusion.

The ripe fruit of such a seed bares penetrating insight.

m

Teachings

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

68 58

One great Master said “Easy requires weakness difficulty requires strength”.

m

69

m

59

Daily life

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

70

Genuine wisdom is functional. To know is not enough.

If knowing the ‘way’ is all you have,

you have nothing. Until you have woven wisdom into your daily life,

and step-by-step you are able to access clear understanding

at the exact right moment, well, you have only knowledge.

And that means you have nothing.

Knowledge applied is wisdom, and that is the shining light of freedom.

Wisdom applied is insight,

is freedom reaching beyond understanding what wisdom actually is.

m

60

71

m

61

Daily life

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

72 62

Embodying one simplicity yields more wisdom

than years of studying the Way.

m

It is always a matter of letting those insightful passages just fall out of our heart and into the situation at the right time. m

73

m

Truth

63

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

74

There is a blunder, a stone in the way, that people stumble over and over again

from beginningless time until

this very moment. They think, now I have it -

now it’s gone. Calling it nothing, they attribute it to something. Thinking in measure, distance, time and it, it, it. They think, one day, when conditions are right,

the truth will stay with me forever. They think

like that again and again, around and around it goes.

m

64

75

m

65

Truth

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

76

I was in my favorite antique shop the other day and I saw a nice old, well worn down,

and therefore polished, Chenrezig in bronze. I asked how much it was?

500 rupees the reply. Then I knew the polish was false, the age was false.

Therefore I bought it and immediately saw three exact copies displayed in the shop!

How much like the world of appearances

is this bronze casting? Looking one way and being another.

Everything is understanding or misunderstanding

and both can lead to insight. The Truth is evident everywhere,

though it may not be noticed.

m

66

77

m

The greatest obstacle to Truth is I am The gateway opened to Truth is I am Truth is I am and free of I am at once

m

67

Truth

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

78

Enlightenment is not restricted, partial, exclusive or isolated.

Every being is fully established therein, knowingly or unknowingly, sentient and insentient.

The Truth is without bias or preference.

Total expanding throughout infinite oceans

of eternities, inside and out, here and now.

This is a well spring of wisdom.

Drinking from this deep, pristine source,

the arid thirst of perplexity vanishes like darkness disappears at sunrise.

Lacking the certainty of this perfect wisdom,

whatever may be done or not done, only results in trying to be what you already are.

m

68

79

m

69

Truth

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

80 70

The hidden beauty in Truth is

whatever is, is Truth, whatever is not is Truth.

There is no arrival nor was there departure. Doesn’t that just turn your heart completely inside out?

m

81

m

Heart / Compassion

71

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

82 72

83

m

The sages have told that generosity is illuminating. It erases the limits of yours and mine. Erasing the limits of yours and mine,

opens the heart to receive the Tao as one’s self. Everything belongs to the Tao

and is the Tao from beginningless time until forever.

No one gives to another, it only appears to be so.

This is why the sages point to generosity of heart as a way.

A way to see with clarity that all who give and all who receive

are the Tao and the Tao alone. Giving with expectation or threads of attachment,

is a ‘dilemma churning’ approach, an ‘ardent restraint’

and an ‘abundance of dissatisfaction’.

Why is it so?

It is because everything belongs to the Tao, every hand, every breath, every heart,

every offering.

The one who receives is

the one who gives. Though there is no profit in offering,

how clean the ego-sense washes away when one gives without being noticed.

m

73

Heart / Compassion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

84

The jewel in the lotus of our heart shines more brilliantly by humility than by value. Precious beyond knowledge or worth, every being is this jewel, evident or obscure. Step deep into the basin of tenderness, cleans away all doubt in the tear stream of Chenrezig. m

Open your mind and find your heart within. Forgive everything

immediately and carry on. Soon you will forget

why it was even necessary to forgive.

m

74

85

m

Arousing loving kindness is the remarkable advantage in generosity.

m

Compassion naturally flows from an open heart like fragrance drifts from a rose.

m

Let those moments of fragility and doubt blossom into compassion

for all of those who are fragile and doubtful.

m

When one is naturally loving in the company of anyone, under any condition,

then one has truly entered perfect understanding.

m

The loving sage does not love all equally. The loving sage loves all totally.

So natural, so natural.

m

75

Heart / Compassion

m Something for everyone and No thing for no one

86

Our days on this earth are few though at times they seem too many.

An open heart is the way of the lion, not the mouse. There are small thinking people in every corner,

on every street, in every moment. Even the great sky gazers gave the rule of the heart

to the lion, Leo.

We have come together to bring out the best in you for the time we have here on this earth.

So let us do that and let us not do anything else. Maybe we have many, many years,

maybe we have moments, this is always left unknown.

But what we truly have is an open heart,

which gives an unusual strength and great wisdom at all times.
