The Solution

ProLion is addressing this problem with “ClusterLion for SAP HANA”, a fully in-tegrated High Availability solution for

SAP HANA. The goal is, to give adminis-trators a simple and reliable tool so that they are able to ensure the Near-Zero-Downtime requirements of their SAP HANA systems. This solution can even be used in Hybrid Cloud Environments, since there are no restrictions to the dis-tance between the monitored database hosts.

Fully automated, easy to setup switchover capabilities for SAP HANAFast reactions in case of disaster scena-rios are key to meet the always-on-po-licies of critical IT systems. The Cluster-Lion constantly monitors all configured resources and takes over the responsi-bility to perform failover actions as soon as a primary system has been reported to be unavailable. This process is fully automated and does not need any ma-nual interaction.

Through the easy and straight forward installation process, administrators are able to setup and configure the Cluster-Lion with only a few guided steps. There is no software that has to be installed on the database hosts themselves, so no dependencies are added to the existing infrastructure.

saging, the ClusterLion Cloud Quorum receives the fetched metric values and is responsible to trigger according reac-tions, whenever a monitored resource reports a problem.

Solution components

The ClusterLion for SAP HANA solu-tion has two core components:

Agents. The Agents are deployed in the company datacentres, along the data-base servers. They are standalone servi-ces who constantly fetch health metrics from the Linux hosts and SAP HANA itself. All gathered information is sent directly to our cloud quorum.

Cloud Quorum. All messages from the agents come together in our cloud quo-rum, to be aggregated and analysed. In case of any monitored irregularity on the primary database location, the im-plemented logic will trigger the automa-tic switchover mechanism and ensure a safe takeover to a standby host.
