2016 Soldiering On Awards Categories and Descriptions – Who do you know?

Details of the nine 2016 Soldiering On Awards categories that will receive national recognition at the 2016 Soldiering On Awards on Friday 22 April. Nomination deadline 30 Oct 15!Anyone can put forward a nomination to celebrate an individual, group, organisation (including a commercial company) or a canine partnership that has supported our Armed Forces Community (AFC). These nominations can also be associated to a military charity who have supported the nominee (or who the nominee would like to be recognised). Who do you know, who deserves national recognition for their support or whose story may inspire others to contribute to the many worthwhile military charity causes?1. Training and Rehabilitation Award – (sponsor TBC)To recognise an individual or organisation that has given exceptional training and support in helping individual(s) overcome life-changing injuries.

2. Family Values Award – Sponsored by NetAppTo recognise an individual or family that has provided outstanding support to an injured person or people who have served their country.

3. Sporting Excellence Award – Sponsored by SpectraTo recognise an individual who has reached beyond their disability or injury to inspire others through their sporting achievements.

4. Inspiration Award – Sponsored by SkanskaTo recognise an individual, who, in spite of injuries sustained whilst they were serving their country, has set an example by overcoming all things that faced them during recovery to inspire other to soldier on.

5. Working Together Award – Sponsored by The Forces in Mind TrustTo recognise an individual, team or organisation, that has demonstrated an enduring commitment and innovative approach to collaboration within the sector.

6. Canine Partner Award – Sponsored by Pets at HomeTo recognise the incredible association between a member of the Armed Forces Community and their canine partner, highlighting how this partnership can help recovery after serious injury.

7. Innovation Award – Sponsored by TelentTo recognise an individual or organisation that has shown an innovating way to approach to aiding the recovery of Service individual(s) overcome life-changing injuries.

8. People’s Choice Award - (Sponsor TBC)A nomination to be considered for recognition and selection through one of the UK’s Lead National Newspapers; nominations for this category could be selected from submissions put forward for other awards (with agreement of the individual and the associated military charity involved)

9. Lifetime Achievement Award – Sponsored by Providence Bonds To recognise an individual or group who, through a lifetime of service, has provided a significant contribution in support of the Armed Forces Community.
