    LEVEL : 1 (One)

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    The Solar Electric Technician installs, tests and services the stand alone PV solar home system (SHS).

    3.

    LIST OF TASK :L-1

    1.1 Mounting and installing of solar PV module/panel.

    1.2 Installing the charge controller.

    1.3 Installing the battery.

    1.4 Wiring for Solar Home System.1.5 Interconnecting the system.

    1.6 Testing of the installed system.

    4. QUALIFYING NOTES (ENTRY REQUIREMENTS, etc.):-

    PHICYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : a) Physically able to do the above mentioned job.

    b) Should not be color blind.

    ENTRY REQUIRENMENTS : 1. Literate.

    2. Training in the relevant field, minimum of one year work experience in the related field, or.3. One month (160 hours) Training in the relevant field or4. Any other requirements set by NSTB.

    JOB TITTLE: Solar Electric Technician L-1

    6TASK ELEMENTS:

    1.1. Receives verbal and/or written instructions.1.2. Lists & collects the required materials, tools & instruments.1.3. Tests the Solar PV Module/Panel.1.4. Locates the position for mounting the pole on the building.1.5. Installs the pole firmly and the securely.

    1.6. Installs solar PV module on the support structure/frame.1.7. Connects UV (Ultra Violet) protected correct size cables.

    1.8. Fixes support structure (frame) on the wooden/metallic pole.

    1.9. Lays the UV protected correct size cables from Solar PV module/panel to the charge controller.

    TASK PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS:

    Materials :

    Solar PV module/panel, connecting cables (UV Protective), support structure, wooden/ metallic pole, cable clips, clamp with set of

    nuts and bolts, cable shoe.

    Tools :

    Standard electrician tool kit, monkey pliers, slide wrench, plumb bob, hammer.

    Instrument :

    Multimeter, DC Clamp meter, Magnetic compass, Angle meter/Set Square, measuring tape with mercury level.

    e) Shortest distance from charge controller.
