1 Introduction

1.1 About PowerSpring

PowerSpring is a Meter data collection (MDC) system, a critical component in realizing the full potential of advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) for gas distribution customers. PowerSpring Meter Data Collection eases IT integration of AMI and facilitates the distribution of the meter data across the utility enterprise by framing the volumes of interval data retrieved from the field into manageable and familiar information. PowerSpring MDC provides database repository and gas distribution business logic to:

Automate the complex process of collecting meter data from multiple meter data collection technologies

Deliver that data in the appropriate format to utility billing systems

PowerSpring MDC thus creates an immediate impact on gas distribution business processes

1.2 About this Document

This guide describes the functions and features of PowerSpring R300. In addition, this guide captures the updates that might not be reflected in the user documentation. Additionally, it contains last minute documentation updates and any special considerations for the current release.

4 Release Overview

PowerSpring R300 is an incremental release in the PowerSpring MDC development cycle. After focusing on horizontal scope extension in the R200 release through the support for additional international products in both industrial and residential environments, this release will focus on vertical improvements in extending the support for existing devices to cover the full functionality offered as well as catching up with changes to already supported products. The proposed release consists of following features, enhancement and addresses selected customer/field issues.

9 RGASMETER-266 CNI4 Data Gaps

10 RGASMETER-404 PowerSpring DST issue - EC350's calling in hourly resulted in a

missing interval.

DST is handled in PS R300 for EC350 and ERX350.

11 RGASMETER-296 RBX events are capturing for EC350 and ERX350 devices. When

alarm clean call comes from device, PS is capturing if the alarm is

cleared because of RBX event. User can see this information in

alarm report.

12 RGASMETER-301 PowerSpring device mismatch issue of showing previous RU ID

for all other devices when calling is fixed by adding a message

saying "RU_ID is yet to be recognized", and assigning the RU_ID

to zero as soon as the call ends.

13 RGASMETER-317 CNI4 reports data in the future addressed by restricting future date

being requested from device.

14 RGASMETER-325 Addressed issue with ‘Last Call’ column sort in RU Summary

report.

15 RGASMETER-326 New role able to delete custom report

Issue with Delete Custom report with any other role not having

privilege is fixed.

16 RGASMETER-342 From here on in PowerSpring R300, the FW Version of the device

types EC350, ERX350, CNI4 will be shown in 5 digits and other

legacy devices will continue to have 4 digited FW version.

17 RGASMETER-378 CSV and Tab delimited file support for Custom Report.

25 RGASMETER-397 Issue with PowerSpring Reading incorrect values for inputs

beyond 25 is fixed for EC350, ERX350 and CloudLink devices.

26 RGASMETER-399 The validation of Item 334 and 335 Writes in PowerSpring is

included to ensure proper configuration for next Call Time. Note

that for other devices like Mini-Max, Turbo Corrector etc. the fix is

not applicable.

5.3.2 Enhancements/Improvements

5.4 PowerSpring R110.3

The changes went in PowerSpringR110.3patch release are listed below

5.4.1 New Features

Following two new features are provided in System Preferences

1. Configuration of SMTP settings and quick test of new configuration

2. Customer logo can be upload, which would be shown in the footer of webpage

5.4.2 Problems Resolved

Following problems have been resolved in this version of PowerSpring

1. Issue of CNI2 large number of extra counts intermittently.

2. TOC for channel 2 inputs (Ch2 Inc Fixed Factor Vol and Ch2 Inc Accumulated Vo), of PA were not working as expected. i.e. “Map Time of Call data for item codes 225/226 to 0/2” was not effective for channel 2 inputs

3. When selecting Excel outputs and emailing them through Autoload, the file extension of the attachment is “XSL” instead of “XLS”. The file is unreadable unless you manually change the extension

4. Data Resync issue, Time of call value does not increment on calls after resync time frame

5. In one of the scenario, Auto Load scheduler date and time were getting modified without user intention

6. Deleting a member from an account causes an error in PowerSpring when account has more than 255 accounts.

7. Location field in custom report image does not take UNC path and does not generate report when a mapped drive is provided in the path as well.

8. The distribution of custom report and RU Summary reports were not supported over email and FTP

9. In Alarm Report image, overwrite option was not getting saved.

10. The data in the PowerSpring was offset by one interval with respect to device log time when the time zone was set to something like (UTC +/- X.30) e.g. UTC+5.30

5.5 PowerSpring R110.2

This release is intended to provide the support for EC350 - latest EVC offering from Honeywell along with additional support for latest server platforms and browser that are given below.

5.5.1 New Features

This release contains the following enhancements:

Daily Read Build UI Improvement: Feature is provided on dashboard to give the list of DR builds executed in the last 24 hours along with the execution status. User would get overall status at single glance.

5.5.2 Problems Resolved

This section provides an overview of the problems resolved in this release. Following field issues were addressed in this release

a) DST-Spring 2015- system time was not adjusted correctly (1-8304719396) b) Spring DST: CNI2’s as SIPs after first call in after DST w/ missing interval (1-8588620134) c) DR hour changing when syncing a unit through browser UI (1-8539773991) d) Web UI does not display the most current scaling factor values (inputs tab) (1-8561857484) e) FW 297 endless event log loop when a MMX is communicating w/ PowerSpring (1-

8598198747)

6 Known Issues/Observations

6.1 Open Issues from this release:

Based on information and data available to us to date, this section describes some currently identified issues related to this release.

In RU Summary Report while adding columns with Miscellaneous information, ‘Total Calls’ can only be selected and for EC350, ERX350, CloudLink devices.

‘Total Conn Avg’ and ‘Total Miss Avg’ cannot be selected. RU Summary report-Once Sort option is chosen for configured column, User will not be able to change to option ‘None’ henceforth.

2 RPOWERSPRING-3073 In few instances, Start and Stop of new DC/ DP processes fails on the first attempt but succeeds in sub sequent attempts.

3 RPOWERSPRING-2681 RPOWERSPRING-2473

In Traces User interface, when error codes are seen please refer to the respective device user manual. Traces User interface may not show messages for new Device type exactly same as Legacy Processes shown in Console but equivalent messages are provided.

4 RPOWERSPRING-3109 Scheduler page- ‘Copy from’ field in Scheduler page allows to enter non-existing image however image is not created.

5 RPOWERSPRING-3066

Sometimes user might experience delays in below operations: 1). Selection of inputs in Remote Unit configuration taking almost 15-20 seconds to reflect in the selected inputs. 2). Creation/Addition of new EC350 Integrated Devices. 3). Delay in selecting/saving of Parameters in Multi member corrector configuration. 4). Browsing of remote units’ selection in Diagnostic and Statistics reports in PowerSpring Web interface.

6 RPOWERSPRING-3351 During database migration when user moves all processes, the ‘sysmonport’ will be disabled. User must enable it manually.
