SOCIETY FOR MILITARY PSYCHOLOGY Presents this 2019 Presidential Citation to Commander Shawnna Chee, PsyD , ABPP For her outstanding contributions to the Society as the Senior Editor of the Society’s internationally-recognized newsletter, her steadfast commitment to ensuring psychological fitness of military personnel, and her leadership in developing the future generation of military healthcare providers and especially clinical neuropsychologists. CDR Chee currently serves as a senior editor of the APA Division 19 Newsletter, The Military Psychologist. As senior editor, she has done an outstanding job in leading her team of editors and producing six tremendous newsletters. She has put forth numerous hours of dedication in order to produce great articles on military psychology to a national and international audience. CDR Chee also plays an important role by archiving the history of the Society of Military Psychology through the newsletter. CDR Chee is an aerospace clinical neuropsychologist. She currently serves as the Department Head of TBI Services at Portsmouth Naval Medical Center. She has also served at Naval Aerospace Medical Institute, conducting neurocognitive evaluations of Active Duty military aviators to determine their fitness and suitability for aviation and aerospace duties. In this role, she supervised residents of aerospace medicine and teaches aeromedical officer courses. Prior to this role, CDR Chee was deployed to Afghanistan to provide psychological and neurocognitive assessments and intervention for active-duty U.S. military personnel during Operation Enduring Freedom. In her many positions as a military psychologist, CDR Chee has demonstrated steadfast commitment and excellent care to thousands of active duty service members, as well as impeccable leadership to those health providers that she has and continues to supervise. For her continued leadership and commitment to the field of military psychology through her dissemination of military psychology articles of great significance to the Society, outstanding service and mentorship to military members and providers, I, Stephen V.
