  • Trading Goods

    from: Louisiana

People in Louisiana trade with each other. Trade happens when goods and services are bought and sold.

People in Louisiana also trade with people in other countries. For example, many people in Louisiana drink coffee. It is not grown in Louisiana. Therefore, Louisiana imports coffee. Import means to bring

in goods from one country to another for sale.

People in other countries need goods from Louisiana. Goods such as oil products, cotton, plastics, and paper are exported from our state. Export means to send goods from one country to another for

    sale.
