WORKWEAR THAT PUTS YOUR CONSCIENCE AT EASE

WE SAY YES TO SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

You are welcome to compare us with other textile companies. While most others are refusing to face up to the reality of the world, we at Segers are saying YES to social responsibility. We have a Code of Conduct. That's why we hope that when you buy our clothes, you do so with a clear conscience. It is a small but

significant step towards to a fairer and more equal world.

In a world where inequality and injustice are widespread and many textile manufacturers turn a blind eye, we at Segers prefer to confront the issues

head-on. And resolve them too.

All too often we hear of how companies use suppliers that violate human rights or are otherwise involved in unethical practices. At Segers, we want to be a leader in bringing about change.

Whether you are a purchaser or a consumer, you are entitled to know where and how our clothes have been produced. CSR is a natural and integral part of our business –

it is about showing respect and consideration and recognising our responsibility towards society.

Corporate Social Responsibility is essentially a concept whereby companies voluntarily

decide to contribute to a better society and a cleaner environment. It involves taking

actions that extend beyond regulatory and legal requirements. The idea is that corporate

social responsibility can be of direct economic value.

WHAT IS CSR?

Page 3: Social Responsibility

In the area of HUMAN RIGHTS, our company should:

1. support and respect the protection of internationally recognised human rights.

2. ensure that it is not complicit in human rights violations.

In the area of LABOUR LAW, our company should:

3. uphold the freedom of association and the effective recognition of the right to collective bargaining.

4. eliminate all forms of forced or compulsory labour.

In the area of the ENVIRONMENT, our company should:

7. support a precautionary approach to environmental challenges.

8. undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility.

9. encourage the development and diffusion of environmentally friendly technologies.

In the area of ANTI-CORRUPTION, our company should:

10. work against all forms of corruption, including extortion and bribery.

Our Code of Conduct is integral to our relation-ships with our suppliers. All new suppliers are assessed by Segers' purchasing department and our current suppliers are continuously monitored and evaluated.

SEGERS' SUPPLIERS

Just 10 percent of Segers' sales comes from products purchased from other manufacturers. We produce the other 90 percent of our range in our own manufacturing facilities.

OUR CONDUCT

SEGERS' Code of Conduct sets the minimum level for our suppliers.

IT IS OUR AMBITION that all goods supplied to Segers are manufactured under conditions that far exceed the minimum level.

SEGERS KEEPS AHEAD IN CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

SEGERS' ENVIRONMENTAL PRACTICESRecent years have seen environmental issues come to the fore and today these issues have a prominent place in our business concept. Our customers are becoming more and more environ-mentally committed, which is reflected in their purchases of cloth-ing. They require their suppliers to be environmentally certified. That is why we began to introduce the ISO 14001 environmental management system in November 1998. ISO certification was completed in May 2000.

REST ASSURED!Since 1992, the Öko-Tex Standard 100 has become an interna-tional measure of reliability throughout the entire fabrics chain. The Öko-Tex system ensures that fabrics that have passed the tests and been certified do not contain harmful substances. The list of requirements contains over 100 test parameters to ensure that the fabrics are not harmful.

PRODUCER RESPONSIBILITYSegers is affiliated to the Swedish REPA register, which means we accept our responsibility as a producer and are committed to helping Sweden become one of the best recycling countries in the world. Sweden introduced producer responsibility for packaging in 1994. This means that any company which manufactures, imports or sells packaging is responsible for the collection and recycling of its packaging.

WE ONLY HAVE ONE EARTH – Let's take care of it

OUR ENVIRONMENTAL POLICYSegers Fabriker is a textile company that produces lightweight workwear and it has long been our goal to reduce our impact on the environment. To enable the long-term development of our company in line with changing environmental requirements, we will:

• Provide all our employees with sufficient information and knowledge to enable them to undertake their work in an environmentally-sound manner.

• Choose suppliers and partners according to our own environmental standards and thereby put pressure on companies and authorities with whom we interact.

• Do all that we can to make the best use of our resources and coordinate our work as far as possible to minimise the wastage of resources.

• Stay abreast of research and developments in the en-vironmental field, particularly those related to textiles.

• Make environmental issues part of our long-term investment strategy and give priority to preventive actions.

• Maintain and develop our environmental management system and its practices so that we continue to make improvements in our environmental performance.

• Comply with the legislation and standards to which our company is subject.

REACH- a new chemical regulation for a non-toxic environment

The REACH set of regulations on chemicals came into force on 1 June 2007 and thereby replaced most of the chemical legislation and regulations that had previously applied in Sweden and the European Union.

The objective of the REACH regulations is the protection of human health and the environment from the risks related to chemicals. The REACH regulations require professional users and consumers to be given new and important in-formation about the chemical substances they are using.

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals and provides a single system for chemicals regulation within the European Union.

Pressure on companies

REACH is based on the principal that it is the responsibil-ity of manufacturers, importers and downstream users to make sure that the substances they produce, place on the market or use do not harm human health or the environ-ment.

There are specific rules for registration of chemicals and some 30,000 substances are to be registered before 2018 at the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in Helsinki.

Segers works actively

Segers is part of the Chemicals Group that regularly moni-tors the registration and evaluation of new and old sub-stances that are fabric related to ensure that the products do not pose any health risks to you as a customer.
