What is a Fitbit?

Fitbit is a line of wearable tech products that track activity. The most basic models come with a pedometer and the ability to track distance and calories burned. More advanced models also track sleep cycles, heart rate and exercise workouts.

All Fitbit devices have the ability to sync to a computer and mobile device, which allows for the user to view their progress towards a set goal. Guidelines state that an adult who walks over 10,000 steps per day is considered active. By using a pedometer to monitor the amount of steps a person takes, he can judge how sedentary his life may or may not be.
