Social media provide communication tools just like email and the telephone, and they are quickly becoming just as integral a part of both socializing and business correspondence. Like anything, these tools have advantages and disadvantages, fans and critics. As with the advent of most new technologies, there are those who predict they will “be the death” of personal productivity. With the ideas and techniques outlined in this presentation , I’m confident you’ll be able to use social media and keep your personal productivity on move.

I define social media as any tool or platform that enables the following kind of communication:

1-One-to-many or many-to-many 2-Two-way 3-Primarily public (offering some privacy settings in some instances) Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter often come to mind first when we think of

social media, but using my definition, we can also include blogs that allow comments, image-sharing sites such as Flickr and instagram, video-sharing sites such as YouTube and Vimeo, location-based services such as Foursquare and Yelp

• There are a lot of web applications that we can use. • Here are the best of them! Try these!

Life Style Revolution and Social Media

Political Revolutions and Social Media In 2011, revolutions swept the Middle East, from Tunisia, to Egypt, to Syria and beyond. Videos, images and information captured by civilians and shared on Social Media was viewed and read by people around the world. There can be no doubt that information and communication technologies, in particular Social Media, played a part in these upheavals. But questions continue to political theorists and social scientists – just how much of a role did the different media play?

The message…

• “That's a very limited life. Life can be much broader once you discover one simple fact, and that is everything around you that you call life was made up by people that were no smarter than you, and you can change it, you can influence it, you can build your own things that other people can use. Um, once you learn that, you'll never be the same again.”
