The sweep of life:In the mythical vision of Warlis, death came upon manbecause he humilated Mother Earth. Life on earth wascreated by Mahadev and Ganga-Gauri, the origin self-created by coupple who set about sowing seeds “gotfrome squirrels and ants.” After they had finished theirwork, life began to proliferate on earth, so much so thatwork, life began to proliferate on earth, so much so thatthe horns of the cattle touched each other and thebranches of trees got entangled. The burden becomeunbearable for the earth, Dhartari, who sought the helpof the gods. Pandudev, insted of helping her, kicked herand insulted her. Now Pandufled from Death; the faster he ran, the sooner it caught upwith him. Even at the bottom of the seven seas he couldnot escape it and finally he had to die.
