Social Concerns Ministry Directory
Lutheran Church of the Redeemer 1545 Chain Bridge Rd McLean, VA 22101 703-356-3346 [email protected] 9/2015
Welcome to Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLean, VA!
We invite you to become familiar with all of our different ministries at our church – our worship life, spiritual formation, education, and our outreach
into the community. This booklet was developed to help you learn about the organizations that we support, both locally and abroad. We have been blessed with resources to give financial support and we also engage in
hands-on projects throughout the year. We find that this is a wonderful way to teach our young people about mission as they work side-by-side with
their parents and other adults in our faith community.
Each ministry listed is an expression of the breadth and depth of our love for Christ as we serve the people that God has sent our way. The list includes a brief description of each organization and we encourage you to reach out to
the group’s lead contact to learn more.
It is our hope and prayer that if you see something that you believe you are called to experience that you will work with our Social Concerns committee
and we will find a place for you to serve.
As you read about each ministry, please offer a word of prayer that … they will be faithful in their response to the people they serve
… they will be given the resources they need to effectively make a difference in this world
… we will be able to continue to support them in thanksgiving to God
Yours in Christ – Pastor Sandy Kessinger

I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink;
I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; Naked, and you clothed Me;
I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.
Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or
Thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or
Naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?
Truly I say to you,
to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine,
even the least of them, you did it to Me.
―Matthew 25:35-40
