About Us

In 1963, “Amedeo” Richard DeAngelis opened a small Italian restaurant to serve his family’s recipes. The company grew in size and popularity and became an NC State and Raleigh favorite. In February of 2010, a company named Wolfgang, Inc. consisting of David Harris and Rodney Byrd, purchased Amedeo’s. Under the direction and leadership of President, David Harris, extensive upgrading of the kitchen and bathrooms, remodeling of the bar to include several large screen TV’s and touching up the dining rooms was completed and Amedeo’s reopened in early March, 2010. The NCSU Sports “museum” was kept intact.

In January 2011, David and Jill DeAngelis Parker became minority shareholders in the group to show their support for keeping the Amedeo’s tradition going and growing. They also manage the catering portion of the business. In addition to keeping the popular DeAngelis family recipes, other delicious Italian dishes have been added to the menu, the bar area has been enlarged to include a party room for up to 50 people and the patio has been upgraded with an awning added. Amedeo’s continues to support NCSU and remains a Raleigh Wolfpack Tradition. So, stop by any day of the week and enjoy all that Amedeo’s has to offer.

Policies & Procedures

• BookingSo that we can plan for your event, please reserve the event date as soon as possible. We require all events to be booked one week in advance, including menu choices and number of guests.

A credit card number is required at the time of booking.

A 30 person minimum guest count is required for lunch and dinner. We will cater groups less that the minimum of 30 people for a service charge of $50.

• Guarantee PolicyIn order for us to prepare for your event, we ask that you provide the guaranteed number of guests 3 business days before your event. We will make every effort to accommodate changes however, we cannot guarantee availability of all items. Additional charges may apply.

• CancellationsCancellations made less than 1 week prior to event are subject to a cancellation fee of 35% of the estimated total. Cancellations made with 2 business days prior to the event are subject to full estimate charges.

• Inclement Weather PolicyIf the University officially closes during adverse weather, or threat of impending inclement weather, the client will not incur any charges associated with their event. If the University remains open or has yet to officially close, but the client makes the decision to cancel their event for any weather-related reason, they will be required to inform the caterer 48 hours in advance for groups of less than 100 and 72 hours in advance for groups of more than 100 to avoid any charges. If the client does not cancel within the designated time period, they are subject to be billed at the caterer’s discretion based on cost incurred. All other scenarios will revert to the normal cancellation policy as stated in the menu.

• PaymentAll payments are due on the day of the event. We require a credit card on file when the order is placed. We accept cash, check, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. A 2% service fee will be applied to credit card payments.

• Staff Allowance PolicyAll buffet prices are based on a 2 hour time frame. Additional time is charged at a rate of $1.00 per person per hour. All meals will be ready to serve 15 minutes prior to the event start time.

• TablewareAll events include disposable plates, napkins, forks, knives, cups, and placemats. Linen table cloths will be provided for buffet tables. At this time, Amedeo’s does not provide china service or cloth table linens for dining tables.

• Alcohol

Amedeo’s does not provide nor serve any alcoholic beverages at the McKimmon Center.

• Leftover Food Policy In accordance with the Wake County Health Department, recommendations regarding food health and safety, it is McKimmon Center policy that all leftover food remains the property of the caterer and cannot be removed from the event space by the client. This policy is intended to limit the risk of food borne illness due to improper handling or storage of leftover food items. All leftover food and drink will be disposed of by the caterer at the conclusion of the meal.

choice of chocolate chip cookies or chocolate brownies. *Homemade Cheesecake is an additional $2 per person*

Salad Options

Garden Salad - Mixed greens, tomatoes, red onions, mozzarella cheese, and homemade croutons. Your choice of dressing:

Homemade Bleu Cheese, Homemade 1000 Island, Homemade Ranch, or Homemade Italian Vinaigrette.

Caesar Salad - Romaine lettuce, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and

Caesar dressing.

PIZZA BUFFETS ($12 per person)

Amedeo’s offers pizza buffets as well. The maximum number of people we can accommodate is 60. All pizza buffets include 3 slices of pizza per person, a Garden Salad or Caesar Salad, dessert - choice of brownies or cookies (homemade cheesecake available for an additional $2 per person), iced tea and water.
