Management (EBM)?The Sobey EMBA specializes in Evidence-Based Management (EBM). EBM means making decisions using the best available evidence from multiple sources by using the six A’s to define and explore a problem or question: ask, acquire, appraise, aggregate, apply, and assess.

EBM is a significant and growing field, and the Sobey School of Business is proud to be an early adopter. The Sobey School of Business is the first in Canada to formally pursue international Center for Evidence-Based Management (CEBMa) certification for its executive programs.

Streamline your learning. We have structured our program to maximize your time learning in a convenient format for working professionals. You will experience two intense days of premium in-person classes every three weeks. Between, you will work through online, self-paced learning modules. You will receive instruction from our reputable Sobey School faculty, and webinars led by expert practitioners in key fields.

In April of 2017, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of our first Executive MBA graduating class. At the reception, we recognized five deserving alumni with Alumni Impact Awards:

The Sobey Executive MBA is divided into four semesters with a module delivered in each one: Winter, Spring, Fall and Winter, with a short break at Christmas before the final Winter semester.

Get started with our unique onboarding approach. Complete coursework on the Saint Mary’s University campus on Fridays and Saturdays every three weeks, and through self-paced online participation.

Meals and refreshment breaks are provided on in-class days.

Your Practice-Oriented Research Project typically focuses on your organization, exploring an issue of interest, a specific challenge, or business planning.

The International Trade Mission, the highlight of your Executive MBA program, will take you to a carefully selected destination to represent companies from the Atlantic region.

Coursework covers the same curriculum as a standard MBA, but the strategic level of discussion is set by your peer participants.

Real-world international experience. Deploy your business experience and newly acquired skills on our unique Sobey Executive MBA International Trade Mission.

Visit places like Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam; Bogotá, Columbia; Warsaw, Poland; Ghent, Belgium; and Copenhagen,Denmark. Participate in meetings with businesses, trade officials, and diplomats. Tour production facilities and attend official receptions. With your EMBA peers, you’ll experience a one of a kind international business experience.

Executive MBA trade missions will take you across the world and outside your comfort zone.

Program Fees The all-inclusive tuition for the Sobey School of Business Executive MBA for the 2020 - 2021 academic year is $52,000 (domestic) and includes:

• $4,300 credit towards the 7 to 12 day International Trade Mission.

• All course materials and books

• Two meals each in-person class day, including refreshment breaks.

An initial deposit of $1,000 is required upon acceptance. The balance is paid in two installments during the program. The international student program fee is $58,000.

Applying to the Sobey Executive MBA The Sobey Executive MBA is a program for professionals. We consider each applicant’s unique skills and strengths and what they will bring to the cohort. We accept a new cohort every 18 to 24 months.

Admission RequirementsYour application should fulfill ONE of the following TWO sets of criteria:

1. GPA of 3.0 (out of 4.0) or higher in the last two years of a four-year undergraduate degree from an accredited university AND at least five years of progressive work experience.

2. GPA of less than 3.0 (out of 4.0) in a university degree as described above AND at least five years of progressive work experience AND a score of 500 or higher on the GMAT.
