Homemade soap INGREDIENTS: 800 Grams Olive Oil 200 Grams Coconut oil 1 can coconut milk - chilled 138 grams Lye Used coffee grounds (optional) for an exfoliating soap bar SUPPLIES: Food scale Soap Mold 2 Glass or stainless steel bowls Handheld blender Stainless steel or plastic mixing spoon DiRECTIONS: Combine Olive Oil and Coconut Oil in one bowl. Set aside. Put 1 can of chilled coconut milk in the second bowl. Measure out Lye in food scale, make sure the food scale is completely dry and clean before measuring. Add the lye to the coconut milk. Blend well with the immersion blender until lye mixture is mixed thoroughly. Your bowl may start to heat up, while mixing, this is totally normal. Now, add the oil mixture to the lye mixture. Blend well with immersion blender until a thick pudding like consistency is reached. At this point your soap is mostly finished and it will start hardening shortly, so work quickly from this point on. Add already used coffee grounds to mixture (for an exfoliating soap) and blend until well mixed. Add any essential oils to mixture for a scented soap. Pour soap mixture into soap mold(s) and allow to dry for a day and a half before cutting into bars. Waiting longer will result in soap that is difficult to cut. After soap bars are cut, bars need to cure in a well ventilated area for 3-4 weeks before use.

1 can coconut milk - chilled

138 grams Lye

Used coffee grounds (optional) for an exfoliating soap bar

SUPPLIES:

Food scale

Soap Mold

2 Glass or stainless steel bowls
