They say there is a reason,
They say that time will heal.
But neither time nor reason,
Will change the way we feel.
For no one kno ws the heartache
That lies beyond our smiles.
No one know s how many times
We have broken down and cried.
We want to tell you something,
So there won’t be any doubt:
You’re so wonderful to think of,
But so hard to be without.
We cannot bring the days back
When we were all together.
The family chain is broken now
But memories and love will live forever.
The family of the late Anthony “Amp” Taylor, wishes to express their sincere
thanks for the many expressions of sympathy shown to them during their time
of bereavement. Please know that your kindnesses will are truly appreciated
and will never be forgotten. We ask that you keep us in prayer as we traverse
this most difficult road. May God bless you now and always.

“I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Now
there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous
Judge, will award to me on that day-and not only to me,
but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”
II Timothy 4:7-8
We gather today to celebrate
and give thanks for the life of
Anthony Leo Taylor.
Anthony Leo Taylor was born
February 27, 1972 in
Columbia, South Carolina, the
youngest child of the late
Robert James and Minnie Morris. He entered God’s Eternal Kingdom on Monday
October 16, 2017.
“Amp”, as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of Columbia High School’s
Class of 1990. He was a member of Bible Way Church of Atlas Road where he
rededicated his life to be a devoted servant throughout the community. He was
baptized at Rehoboth United Church of Columbia.
Anthony was a person that held his family, friends, and customers very close to
him. He never met a stranger; and to know Anthony was to love him. He was known
for his charming, loyal, and caring traits. When you saw Anthony, you were
immediately drawn in by his contagious and beautiful smile. He never burdened
others with the obstacles he faced, but pushed through daily as a great mentor and
businessman. Anthony was the proud owner of the Food Gallery Soul Food
Restaurant for 27 years.
His memory will be forever cherished by four loving daughters: Kilah Simone
Taylor and Kaedia Cierra Taylor of Charlotte, North Carolina, Amiyah Anthonia
Taylor of Greenville, South Carolina, and Keli Marie Taylor of Columbia, South
Carolina; one granddaughter, Sage Noelle Taylor; five sisters: Mary Miller, Eula
(Ronald) Anderson, Cynthia Warner, Terry (Dan) Crosland, and Sylvia James, and
four brothers: Jefferey Morris, Timothy (Fern) Taylor, Frank James, Stacey
(Michelle) James, all of Columbia, South Carolina. Anthony also leaves three aunts:
Margaret Taylor-Thomas of Newark, New Jersey, Della (John) Lawson, and Eleanor
Morris of Columbia, South Carolina. Anthony had a devoted god-brother, Vito
Williams; a special friend, Sonya White of Columbia, South Carolina; as well as a
host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and devoted friends.
Anthony Taylor, saved by the blood, passed away to the care of our merciful God,
with whom he is now resting in everlasting and perfect peace. As he stated to his
sister, Mary, on his last day on this side of earth, “Mary, you know what? You are
not supposed to cry when a person dies, you are supposed to rejoice!”
When I am gone, release me. Let me go.
I have so many things to see and do.
You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears.
Be happy we had so many years.
I gave you my love and you can only guess
How much you gave to me in happiness.
I thank you for the love you each have shown,
But now it's time I traveled alone.
So grieve a while for me if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust.
It's only for a while that we must part;
So bless those memories in your heart.
I won't be far away, for life goes on.
So if you need me, call and I will come.
Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near
with all my love around you soft and clear.
And then, when you must come this way alone,
I'll greet you with a smile and a “Welcome Home.”
