Invitation to participate

WORSHIP SERVE BELONGNew Worship Series: Pain & SufferingWe hear about terrible things happening everyday around the world. Whatever it is – illness, death, natural disasters, or other forces that seem to strike without warning – the experience of tragedy is universal. Whether we suffer ourselves or see those we love in pain, eventually we all ask: “If God is good, why do bad things happen?” This new 4-week worship series begins August 6 and will include material to work through with others. A discussion group will meet in the Gathering Place Monday nights at 6:30 p.m. beginning August 7.

Visioning SessionWe are nearing the end of our first-ever Strategic Plan for Good Shepherd. Much has been accomplished as we have been intentional about our vision to transform one life at a time by sharing Jesus in energizing and compelling ways! As we enter into the season of creating the next 3-year Strategic Plan, you are invited to dream about the future and share visions of what Good Shepherd will look like in the next 3 years. The session will be held TODAY from 4 - 6 p.m. in the Gathering Place.

Back-to-School PrayerJoin us as we bless our students and teachers returning to school! On Sunday, August 13, there will be a special time in worship that we will have the opportunity to pray for those beginning a new school year. Plan to attend and invite a friend!

gsYouth Fall Kickoff!Join us on Wednesday, August 16 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. as we celebrate the start to a new school year! All youth from 7th - 12th grade are invited for a night of food and fun. There will be pizza, lots of giant inflatables, and shaved ice! While youth are outside, parents will be in the worship center hearing from Pastor Mark Sheets as he unpacks a teenager’s identity, autonomy, and belonging. This is also your chance to learn everything you’ll need to know for the upcoming year! - Contact Darrick Strzelecki [email protected] or Kalee Johnson [email protected].

Infinity KickballHave a blast playing kickball and raising money for gsKids summer camps all at the same time! On Saturday, August 19, we are hosting an all-day kickball event from 9 a.m. – 9 p.m. at the Platte County campus. Time slots are available for kids ages preschool up through high school, and adults can play any time all day. Cost to play is $5 for kids, $10 for youth, and $20 for adults.
