What is Snow?
Snow is water in the form of Ice Crystals
Ice Crystals form when the temperature drops below 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

What is Snow?
The ice crystal is formed by water vapor in turning into ice.
It then turns into a snow crystal or snowflake or snow pellet.

Types of Ice Crystals
Snowflakes are lots of ice crystals that fall from a cloud.
Snow Pellets are lots of ice crystals that stay liquid as it forms and DOES NOT freeze all the way.
Sleet is part frozen ice crystals and part rain. It is VERY wet and slippery!

Snow can fall very gently or very hard.
There are 3 basic types of snowfall that we all know.
Snow Burst
Blizzard

Snow Burst
A Snow Burst is when snow falls for a short period of time, but produces a lot of snow on the ground. It does not have super cold temperatures.

Blizzard
A Blizzard is strong storm lasting for 3 or 4 hours with high winds blowing and very cold temperatures outside. The temperatures are colder than 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

Snowstorm
A Snowstorm is when a lot of snow falls to the ground with or without super cold temperatures. It is usually when the school calls for a snow day.
