Preparation:Sand all pieces and seal with DecoArt Multi-Purpose Sealer. Sand again when dry and wipe away sanding dust with a damp cloth.

Painting Instructions:Both Shadowboxes:Basecoat both boxes Snow White. Transfer the horizon lines onto the surface.

SkyPaint the sky area on both boxes Winter Blue. Using ½” angular shader brush, double load with Blue Harbor and Whispering Turquoise (1 color

on each side). Pull strokes from the top right corner on the small box all the way to the snow area. Pull strokes from the top left corner on the large box (include the inside and top edges).

SnowPaint the snow with a double loaded brush of Slate Grey and Snow White. When dry, go over the top of the snow with Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Glitter paint.

TreesTransfer a few lines for positions of the trees. Start with Plantation Pine. Paint the middle line for the tree lightly. Then, using an angular shad-er brush, paint the tree branches by tapping lightly on the chisel edge of the brush. Start at the top and continue down, making the tree wider as you go down. Make sure to put strokes on both sides and the front. Using the same technique, tap in lighter and darker branches using Wasabi Green and Black Green. Note: On the small box, put more of the light color on the right side of the trees. On the large box, put more of the light color on the left sides. Using Payne’s Grey, tap in tree shadows as shown in drawing or photo.

Large Shadowbox:Transfer the snowman and snowboard onto the surface. Paint the snowman Snow White and shade with Dioxazine Purple. Deepen shading with Payne’s Grey, especially under the scarf and between the two larger snow balls. Paint the stick arms Asphaltum. Paint the following with Baby Pink and shade with Peony Pink: scarf; 2 sections of the hat; middle button; middle section of snowboard. Paint the following with Spiced Pumpkin and shade with Payne’s Grey: stripes on scarf; 1 section of hat; nose; 2 buttons; front section of snowboard; dots on pink section of hat (dot on with a stylus).Paint back section of snowboard Slate Grey. Dry brush snowman’s cheeks very lightly with Spiced Pumpkin0.Use Lamp Black for details: tuft on top of hat; dots on hat’s orange section; mouth and eyes; outline and strap of goggles; details on nose; details on buttons; outline and dots on snow-

board; details on stick arms. Add shading under buttons and lower body of snowman (on snow-board), and under upper long portion of the scarf, using Payne’s Grey. Using a wash of Baby Pink, paint front of gog-gles. Add a few refl ection lines on goggles with Snow White (shown on line drawing).

Small Shadowbox:Transfer the snowman and lettering (SNOW MUCH FUN) onto the surface. Paint lettering Snow White. When dry, go over the top with Ice Crystal Glamour Dust Glit-ter paint. Paint the snowman Snow White and shade with Dioxazine Purple. Paint the stick arms Asphaltum. Paint the hat Fawn. Shade, outline and add line details to the hat with Asphaltum. Dry brush snowman’s cheeks with Baby Pink. Paint the nose Spiced Pumpkin. Paint scarf, mittens and button on top of hat with Dioxazine Purple. Shade with Lamp Black. Use Lamp Black for all details: snowman’s eyes and mouth; details on nose; ski poles and straps; details on arms; details and shading on skis. Add Payne’s Grey shading under scarf, hat, arm and mitten on snowman and under skis on the snow. With Snow White, add dots on scarf with a stylus and paint small cuff on each mitten.

Finishing:Splatter both boxes lightly with Snow White for a little snow. Paint the side edges of all pieces with Lamp Black. Finish with a couple light coats of Deco-Art Acrylic Spray sealer/fi nisher - Matte.
