How should you treat coral reefs when snorkeling?
• You should definitely treat them with respect because some corals are very fragile.
• Also some sea creatures are dangerous. • Be very cautious about where you walk because many
use camouflage.• Too much touching can destroy the coral reef habitats
and some of the creatures are endangered.• Definitely never pollute or leave trash after snorkeling.• Many sea creatures use poison as defense method.• Octopuses have deadly venom, so don’t get near them.

What are the dangers of snorkeling around coral reefs?
• Some of the dangers are the sea creatures.• Stingrays have a bad reputation with humans and
could cause a serious or possibly even fatal injury.• But most sea creatures will only harm you because
they feel threatened, therefore are simply using self-defense.
• So be cautious about where you step.• Also longnose hawkfish are very aggressive and are
experts on camouflage, so don’t mess with them.

How are coral reefs endangered?• A corals response to the reef is ejecting symbiotic algae which
makes it loose color, or bleach.
• Also handling organisms is very bad because it leaves damage.
• Over fishing also endangers reefs.
• Also starfish have started eating living polyps which is making the reef less alive.
• Water pollution also endangers a reef.
• Sedimintation is the key to endangering coral reefs.
• Runoff also endangers coral reefs.
• National Parks and Sanctuaries are a great way to help protect coral reefs.

When you go snorkeling don’t pollute or leave trash, and don’t touch any parts of
the reef or its inhabitants because this kills the reefs and once they are gone
snorkelers won’t be able to enjoy all the beautiful coral reefs in the world!
