DESCRIPTION

SnapIt supports poster marketing campaigns. We developed the idea of the ‘Snapit!’ app which takes a photo of the poster and then translates that image into a calendar entry on the person’s phone, which could then be shared with their friends. To carry out this translation we proposed utilising data gathering technologies such as Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Quick Response (QR) codes. The app itself would be built on open source web technologies including Django, HTML5, jQuery and PhoneGap and deployed across Amazon’s cloud platform.
