Tournaments...Endingand Beginning

Last weekend, the Smithfield Parksand Recreation Department held the31st State Wiffle Ball tournament.Since 2006, we have been honoredto host the annual tournament, whichis believed to be the second oldestWiffle Ball tournament in the world!Congratulations to our own JonMoore, a Wiffle Ball Hall-of-Famer,who was selected to the "All-Decade" Team over the weekend. This weekend, we welcomeanother state tournament toSmithfield. Today throughSunday, the town will host theTar Heel League StateBaseball Tournaments.Players will compete for statechampionships in four age-groups, ranging from 8 and

under to 15 and under. Opening ceremonies for the event will take placethis afternoon at 1pm on field 4 at Community Park.
