Special SecurityAgreementMany of Smiths Groups key US facilities and employees hold USGovernment security clearance.

Since 1987, the US Department of Defense has

established a number of Special SecurityAgreements(SSA) withSmiths.An SSAis overseenby a specified Board of Directors and GovernmentSecurity Committee that set requirements for theoperation of the Smiths companies in the US withsecurity clearance.

Forexample, allkey management personnelare US

citizens, with the most senior also having securityclearance. Smiths employees who are not UScitizens are subject to a strict system of visitapproval and control. Each location maintainstechnologycontrolplansfornon-USemployeesandlong-term visitors with on-site ID badges tohighlight non-US visitors and employees.
