We all hate it when our kids get sick, especially when they are really little. It’s so hard for the little ones to express what is wrong. Taking their temperature is so hard when they are sleeping. You don’t want to wake them up, but you need to check it at the same time. In the past I have used many different types of thermometers on my kids. Recently I was sent the smarttemp bluetooth thermometer by infanttech, and it changed the way we take temps in my house.

If you know anything about me, you know I love technology and electronics. So when you add that to something with my kids, my ears perk up right away. I heard about the smarttemp but wasn’t sold on it right away. Well, that was until I used it for the first time. After that, I was hooked and this has to be one of the coolest thermometers ever! 

Let’s get down to the basics and what you need to work it. One, you need to download the app. Then make sure your bluetooth is on. Setting up the app takes a few minutes. You can do it a couple different ways. If you want the full set up, then create an account and then input each child’s information name, weight etc. Then if you use if for more than one child you can have a profile for each. Otherwise you can just use it as guest. Guest is perfect if you are watching a child and you are only using it once for them. 

Once it’s all set up, then take the smarttemp, and place it on the child, just under the armpit with the metal piece down and tape it to them. infanttech provides a few to start with, when you run out, you can always use sports tape. You don’t need to turn it on as it will do that automatically as soon as you take it out of the container.

After that you can just monitor the temp from your phone. The app will beep and alert you if the temp goes over 100. The app will also keep a graph so you know when it jumped up, when the fever broke etc.

I seriously love this, as you can put it on your child and not worry about checking on them all night and risking keeping them awake. It can also come in handy if you have to take the little one in, you can show the graph to the Dr.

Right now you can buy this at Kohl’s or Amazon. It’s a little pricy at $69.99, but if you look at other types of thermometers, they are around that price and don’t do what this one does. To me, it’s well worth the price. Go check it out today, also makes for a great baby shower gift.
