‘Finding the truth is the most enjoyable

thing there is’ Lieke Dix, Forensic Technology Consultant, on the thrill of tracking down fraud and corruption and solving complex issues. ‘I want to determine what really happened.’

‘How amazing is it to track down sophisticated criminals?’ 26-year-old Lieke Dix’ eyes light up when she starts talking about her work. A year and half ago her strong sense of justice and her interest in technology and data brought the freshly graduated criminologist Dix to KPMG.

Dix collaborated on the development of a Sanctions List Monitoring software

solution enabling companies to screen parties with whom they want to do business. It is illegal to work with individuals, organizations or countries that appear on lists of sanctioned parties. All over the world there are lists of sanctioned parties, compiled by governments and organizations such as the European Union. There are lists of organizations and individuals who are subject to financial limitations, lists of terrorist organizations and of individuals whose assets have been frozen.

Dix: ‘We have developed a solution with which we can rapidly check corporate entities and individuals against selected lists of sanctioned parties. As soon as a name pops up of a sanctioned person or a sanctioned company, the client receives an alert. International legislation aimed at tackling corruption and terrorism is constantly evolving. Regulators are becoming ever stricter and more effective at enforcement. When our solutions prevent a transaction with a “sanctioned business partner” we save them from being fined millions of dollars.’

Sanctions List Monitoring and Astrus are examples of KPMG solutions aimed at helping companies navigate the jungle of international business practices. They help with things like making sense of risks such as a supplier’s insolvency leading to non delivery of goods, supply chain risks including delayed delivery and so on, and the risk of illegally doing business with sanctioned parties.

Using Astrus you can access over 40,000 digital sources – databanks, websites, email and phone details – and screen entities and individuals.

Dix: ‘We can show the structure of a company, who its shareholders are and whether it includes a so-called PEP: a Politically Exposed Person. For many companies this is a reason to conduct further research because of the elevated levels of risk involved if you are dealing with a PEP.’

‘We recently saw that a national leader had a 99% interest in a government company in his own country. The question was whether this was a personal interest or an interest linked to his office. This is

Find

ing th

e tru

th is

the most enjoyable thing there is

a typical example of information you can only find out if you know the country and its business community from the inside. The advantage of our global network is that we can immediately contact local colleagues who are privy to this knowledge and information.’

Predicting that a company will no longer be able to pay its bills in six months’ time is not yet possible, but it’s not unthinkable that this will be in the realm of possibilities in the future. Dix: ‘There are intelligent software solutions that can find out how a company performed

in the past and how it is performing now. You could make reasonable predictions by analysing that data.’

In the past, regulators primarily focused on financial institutes but now they are also looking at mid-market enterprises and the corporates too. This is an important development which KMPG is well-equipped to respond to, says Dix: ‘By computerizing our knowledge we can offer it more widely for a lower price, including to smaller businesses.’

In answer to the question of where her professional field is headed, she doesn’t have to think for long. ‘The inventiveness with which criminals operate is developing rapidly. Their approach is becoming more and more advanced and their activities are increasingly difficult to identify. This means technological solutions are only going to become more important and more impactful. It can’t get complex enough for me, though. Finding the truth is the most enjoyable thing there is.’

Sanction List Monitoring

Using this solution you can screen customers, suppliers, transactions and extraordinary events worldwide. Subsequently, real-time data is used to continue monitoring the parties you entered on an ongoing basis. If someone appears who is officially sanctioned, the company is automatically notified. Sanction List Monitoring is easy to implement, user-friendly, economical and always up-to-date with regard to international legislation and regulations.

You can start using this software after taking two simple steps: connect the software to your company’s ERP system. Next: synchronize the data with the secure cloud. Conclusions and outputs are presented on a clear and easy-to-use dashboard and communicated through automatic alerts and notifications.

Sanction List Monitoring was developed by KPMG’s forensic experts, who can assist your organization with knowledge and advice if you do encounter a party that is listed as sanctioned.

How will your organization benefit from Sanction List Monitoring?

• Worldwide screening on all lists of sanctioned parties

• An option to create your own blacklist and white list

• Savings on labor costs

• Accessible everywhere and always

Screening third parties is difficult and time-consuming for organizations. However, the legislation is unambiguous. If a person or an organization is listed as sanctioned, you are not permitted to do business with them. But it is difficult to keep track. There are various lists of sanctioned parties around the world and these lists can change from one day to the next. That’s why KPMG developed the ‘Sanction List Monitoring’ software solution. It allows you to quickly and efficiently check available data about third parties against relevant lists of sanctioned parties.

Astrus

Astrus is a software solution that enables you to enter screening requests concerning third parties in order to combat risks such as bribery, corruption and reputational damage. The smart search solution uses over 40,000 available sources to give you insight into things like shareholder identity, whether they are involved in litigation or subject of negative media attention. Finally, a team of experienced corporate intelligence specialists who can deal with 88 different languages, analyses the results and presents them to you in a standardized template.

Thanks to the online portal, customers can follow the status of the research in real time. In addition, the audit trail of the request and the information collected are clearly documented so that they can be clarified in retrospect if questions are raised. Following delivery of the report, Astrus Monitoring offers you an extra module that alerts you to potential changes in the documented information. A national leader had a 99% interest in a company owned by his government. The question was whether this was a

personal interest or an interest connected to his office. This is the kind of information companies usually don’t have, but local KPMG colleagues were consulted as sources. Using information obtained from them it became clear this was an entirely logical construct in that country. This kind of information can only be obtained if you know the country and its business community from the inside. Through KPMG’s global network it is possible to rapidly contact local people who have access to this particular kind of knowledge and information.

How will your organization benefit from Astrus?

• Cost savings because manual screening is no longer necessary

• Quicker transition to transactions through more efficient screening process

• Reduction of risks in transactions

• Always up-to-date: KPMG has access to the most current information

• Option to receive alerts if important changes occur

Organizations don’t want to be associated with money laundering, corruption or terrorism. Therefor it’s a good idea to investigate (international) business partners and individuals ahead of time to minimize risks and comply with increasingly strict international regulations. Astrus helps your organization screen these potential business partners.

Third Party Intelligence mitigates the risks involved in doing business with suppliers. A dashboard provides insight into historical, current and future risks associated with suppliers your company works with. It analyzes threats in the supply chain enabling you to avoid reputation damage and loss of turnover.

By collecting financial data, identifying dangers in countries where you operate and reporting specific vulnerabilities, you remain updated about major risks and developments before they can affect your business. Moreover, the intelligence you gather improves your negotiating position.

Third Party Intelligence makes KPMG’s knowledge and expertise available for your organization. Together we compile score cards that show which specific risks and KPIs

are relevant for your organization, enabling us to provide you with tailor-made recommendations concerning risk management and mitigating measures.

How will your organization benefit from Third Party Intelligence?

• Understand at a glance current risks associated with suppliers

• Mitigating risks in the supply chain and thus preventing damage

• Will improve your negotiating position

• Intervene proactively in potentially risky situations

• A solution that fits your organization’s specific needs

Third Party IntelligenceYou are dependent on third parties. That means their vulnerabilities are also your vulnerabilities. Economic insecurities, geopolitical threats and financial influences; how do you prevent risks associated with third parties from influencing your business? Third Party Intelligence is a solution that identifies (potential) threats and provides options for responding to them proactively.

The truth is out there

Investigating data is normally a costly and time-consuming process. Moreover, you usually need to call in outside experts to effectively deploy whatever software is available on the market. Indica is setting a new standard. It is user-friendly, affordable and enables high-speed investigation with unprecedented results.

Using Indica enables Legal, Risk and Compliance professionals to perform early case assessments. By using metadata, they can make an initial estimate of the most serious risks. This allows you to start investigations without having to involve external parties. It also avoids unnecessarily high start-up costs and establishes an efficient process.

In addition, Indica allows for further thorough-going investigations. If outside expertise is essential, one of KPMG’s

specialists can easily continue from where your preliminary investigations left off. And if you want to engage a more specialized platform, Indica provides an open link between Indica and other systems, which preserves the consistency of the data.

How will your organization benefit from Indica?

• Affordable solution for forensic investigation of fraud and corruption

• Independent performance of an early case assessment

• Indica profits from many years of forensic knowledge and expertise

IndicaSometimes a company is confronted with (signs of) fraud and corruption. It’s essential to investigate quickly and decisively to limit financial damage and to protect reputations. But how do you identify key information in today’s ever-increasing volume of data? Forensic data investigation requires smart solutions that are capable of accessing and analyzing both structured and unstructured data. Indica enables you to easily access data on computers, smartphones, cloud services and other data sources.

Forensic fraud investigation in large volumes of data

KPMG works in collaboration with Indica; Indica’s solutions are not available for KPMG Audit clients.

Using SOFY Access Control Monitoring, departments such as finance, internal control and IT can manage and optimize the configuration of user rights within the ERP system. This enables your organization to get a clear picture, down to the level of individual employees, of which rights have been assigned and whether any undesirable merging of duties has been configured. In addition, SOFY Access Control offers the option to perform root cause analyses in order to optimize the design. The solution also offers simulation tools to identify new risks before these are actually implemented.

Roles, authorizations and actions performed are monitored in real-time and presented on a convenient dashboard, enabling you to manage risks that flow from assigning authorizations within an ERP system.

How will your organization benefit from SOFY Access Control?

• Insight into conflicting roles and authorizations through interactive dashboards

• Option to examine authorization structures in detail and to perform root cause analyses in case of conflict

• Simulation of access requests in order to identify potential undesirable merging of positions

• Possibility of securing access to critical and confidential information

SOFY Access ControlOccasionally users are allotted conflicting rights within ERP systems, often without the organization knowing. This can lead to operational and financial risks. Because ERP systems support a company’s financial and operational activities, large numbers of users in different departments and entities have access. This makes it complex to maintain an overview of defined roles and allotted user rights. Using KPMG’s SOFY Access Control, your organization can quickly and easily identify users and (potential) authorization conflicts.

Managing user rights in ERP systems

SOFY Risk Management monitors and protects the progress of an audit cycle through very user-friendly and intuitive dashboards. If controls have not been signed off in the run-up to a deadline it automatically sends notifications to control owners and performers. In addition, it identifies exceptions and records them in an audit trail. This makes it possible to sign off controls based on factual arguments and to identify potential (remaining) risks.

SOFY Risk Management accelerates the implementation and optimization of a centralized, robust control framework. The application offers standard connectors to Oracle, SAP and Microsoft Dynamics (AX and NAV). All this serves to provide your organization with more value and convenience.

How will your organization benefit from SOFY Risk Management?

• Automation of controls and audit evidence

• Insight into the status and quality of audit cycles as well as sign-offs

• Reduction of workload through monitoring during internal audit cycles

• Enables your audit department to focus on quality rather than chasing up control performers

SOFY Risk Management

Internal audits are often unnecessarily challenging. A lot of energy is wasted because of unclear delegation of duties, manual consolidation of sources and having to remind auditors about deadlines. SOFY Risk Management makes it easier for your organization to effectively manage internal control cycles using frameworks for sign-offs, risk and control. This software allows you to automate internal self-assessments, to make them more transparent and to make your internal audit and control department more efficient and practical.

An efficient, effective and clear internal audit process.

The software is based on self-assessment which, besides considering technical aspects, also takes into account factors such as processes, leadership and governance. Data is then subsequently benchmarked in comparison to similar organizations. This yields a set of scores which comprise your company’s ‘cyber maturity levels’. These are presented to you on an easily understandable dashboard. And enable you to quickly identify focal points so you can make targeted investments in cyber security.

How will your organization benefit from Cyber Maturity Assessment?

• Rapidly obtain affordable and valuable information about the status of your cyber security

• Know where you stand in comparison to other companies

• Periodical assessment of your company as a whole and per location

• Make targeted investments in your company’s security

Cyber Maturity Assessment

Cyber attacks are one of the most pressing threats facing organizations today. They are both complex and challenging to deal with. How efficient is your current security? Is your corporate culture capable of withstanding an attack? What should I do to be more in control? Cyber Maturity Assessment provides insight into your organization’s current security level and shows you which requirements your organization should meet according to legislation and regulations.

Embrace transparency

Lease data is currently often stored in a variety of sources – Excel spreadsheets and/or separate databases – and the quality and comprehensiveness of this data sometimes leaves a lot to be desired. The fact that your lease portfolio is constantly being renewed, adjusted and altered, makes managing it even more complex.

The KPMG Leasing Tool is a software solution that enables you to oversee your entire lease portfolio and to comply with IFRS 16 requirements. The solution is based on KPMG’s accounting expertise. It allows you to efficiently collate your lease data and gives you assurance that your lease obligations and right of use have been correctly calculated.

How will your organization benefit from the KPMG Leasing Tool?

• Comply with the highest cyber security standards

• Validate the entire portfolio

• Create the correct journal entries in line with IFRS 16 & US GAAP

• Take smarter decisions about lease constructs

• Implement automated workflows and approvals

• Outcomes are SOC 2 certified

• A cloud-based application

KPMG Leasing Tool

IFRS 16 comes into force on 1 January 2019. Before this deadline, companies will have to collect a lot of additional data about their leases. In addition, they will also have to calculate lease obligations and right of use.

Comply with IFRS 16

Brains of the world unite!

Han Gerrits, partner at KPMG Innovation Factory, is the embodiment of innovation at KPMG. His innovation factory helps enterprises all over the world to professionalize innovation. ‘If we unite all our brainpower, we will be able to accomplish great things.’ ‘Many companies are not intrinsically motivated to change, but external factors such as legislation and digitalization eventually force them to act.’ These are the words of Han Gerrits, on the necessity of innovation, crowdsourcing ideas and how applications can ultimately solve global problems.

‘More and more money is being made available for innovation, especially now the economy is growing again. You see this across the board: everyone from

funded start-ups to major companies recognizes that the business model has to change. CEOs and CFOs know that the changes we are encountering now will have a greater impact than any changes we’ve seen for the past thirty years. They simply must make their organizations more adaptive and adjust to new circumstances. We can help organizations act by involving employees in innovation.’

The switchGerrits experienced first-hand how technology can change a business model and its associated organization. Because besides consultancy, Innovation Factory also developed software to facilitate the crowdsourcing of ideas. Essentially ‘an intelligent variation on the suggestions box’, which is still the backbone of the business. ‘When the crisis began in 2008, many companies slashed their innovation budgets. We observed that companies who were using our software continued to innovate and managed innovation more professionally. Which is why we switched from consultancy to software. Not a simple operation by any means, because the entire character of

the business changed from being people-centered to being product-centered. It was enlightening though, because this is a development taking place throughout the world of consultancy.’

Fast growthThe effort paid off. Innovation Factory’s social software was quickly snapped up by major analysts such as Gartner and Forrester. It was essential to link up with a major party in order to be able to take international steps. ‘Suddenly we were being called by customers like Boeing, whereas we only had a staff of fifteen. Fortunately “the big four” showed interest. KPMG was the only one with a clear vision of consultancy enhanced by technology. With KPMG we were able to shift up a gear. By now we have trained Innovation Factory consultants at KPMG in the US, Australia and Europe and this is quickly spreading.’

BrainpowerThere is a demand for innovation from almost all sectors. Sometimes prompted

by new regulations or deregulations such as the climate agreements, other times by technological developments like the internet of things. Innovation Factory facilitates the generation of

ideas together with employees and, for example, external start-ups. ‘We unite the brain power of all the employees and the surrounding network. Increasingly, boards of directors and

Brains of the w orld unite !

innovation managers are coming to realize that innovation entails more than just incorporating a development like blockchain and then continuing to practice business as usual. You have to move towards more innovative working methods. You can achieve that with our software. Knowledge development requires structural exchange. People propose ideas, are connected with others through our platform and help each other to improve and implement the ideas.’

Start-up ChallengeFor example, Innovation Factory recently organized a Start-Up Challenge for Akzo Nobel. This included mobilizing the platform and KPMG’s network to create as many matches and connections as possible. Gerrits: ‘Yesterday, for example, we were contacted by a company who didn’t win but who were delighted by the process. They received amazing feedback on their idea, there were constructive discussions and they have made connections beyond the organization with whom they will be able to take their idea further.’

Innovation Factory is a platform that efficiently connects people, knowledge and ideas and at the same time encourages collaboration and innovation. Organizational issues are presented as ‘idea challenges’. Inspiring and motivational assignments like these encourage people to share and elaborate ideas. It allows you to utilize collective knowledge and it increases employee engagement.

The tool creates knowledge profiles of the users. The profiles make it possible to create bespoke networks for each idea challenge. You can also invite people from outside your organization. This means you can always ensure that the right experts are involved in developing your next innovative breakthrough. At an annual Innovation Challenge at a large global corporate in the retail sector, KPMG Innovation Factory was used to boost the generation of new ideas within the company, in all their offices - worldwide.  In order to engage and activate the

global group of employees, Innovation Factory has helped employees to sign up for the challenge by offering the software in 18 languages, a single-sign-on login and mobile design. In addition, the so-called ‘Innovation Champions’ were appointed and responsible for the local challenge which caused a global communication network that contained regular promotion materials, example activation texts and newsletters. Besides, the Innovation Challenge was widely supported by regional managers and responsible local managers. This cross-pollination of knowledge sharing led to an increase of quality of the ideas, creating even stronger concepts.

How will your organization benefit from Innovation Factory?

• People and knowledge are efficiently connected

• Employees are inspired and become engaged

• Knowledge profiles display areas of expertise in the organization

• Innovation is an ongoing topic of discussion within the organization

Innovation FactoryThe organization you work for is a treasure trove of knowledge and ideas. Individual employees each represent small parts of this treasure. How can you access the total sum? KPMG’s ‘Innovation Factory’ software solution can help you. It enables you to activate the collective brainpower of your organization. Personal knowledge becomes shared knowledge that can be used to solve organizational issues, to streamline processes and to discover new opportunities.

Culture Factory is a suite of software solutions which provide insight into a company’s corporate culture, the corporate culture’s challenges in terms of company strategy and how to overcome these dilemmas using the correct and appropriate culture and leadership style.

Culture Factory offers a unique vision of leadership: integral leadership. This vision focuses on both hard and soft controls and is based on the groundbreaking work of Fons Trompenaars, a global Top-50 thinker. The solution is based on a cultural model consisting of seven dimensions (‘Culture made measurable’). In addition, a methodology has also been developed that identifies challenges and dilemmas that emerge when culture and strategy are linked together. Through Culture Factory, KPMG even goes a step further by enabling customers to overcome these dilemmas using the DRP tool (Dilemma Reconciliation Program). Using this online tool, a team (from 2 to 1,000 participants) can interact to solve dilemmas structurally. The solution includes a large database of real-world dilemmas that companies are likely to encounter.

One of the solutions within Culture Factory is Culture for Business App leaders, managers, employees, can create their own cultural profile and compare it with the company culture, the national culture and any other culture from any other country. It also indicates potential dilemmas that users will have to deal with in their own specific circumstances. Users then receive tips for addressing these differences.

How can your organization benefit from Culture Factory?

• Insight into your company’s corporate culture

• Maps your organization’s dilemmas

• Presents potential solutions

• Teaches your managers to implement soft controls more effectively

.

Culture FactoryA company’s success depends partly on how management teams take decisions. These are taken on the basis of, for instance, company-specific habits, customs, insights, managers’ beliefs and history — in other words: the company culture.

‘The digital future of consultancy is a single platform’

Tony Kanters (SOFY) discusses real-time service provision, new business models and his belief in the platform concept. ‘I’m convinced that the majority of consultancy is going to move to digital platforms

Four years ago Tony Kanters embarked on a new adventure at KPMG. He, Aart-Jan Boor and their small team wanted to latch onto trends such as the cloud, market demand for a different type of service provision and making consulting knowledge more easily accessible. So, they began digitizing KPMG’s most successful services. It was a side project to which they dedicated one day a week, in which they invested independently and which grew steadily.

Kanters has no trouble recalling the very first customer to buy a SOFY module. It was Hans-Martin Knuppel, IT Manager at an industrial construction company in Germany. He bought a monthly subscription for the application that analyses functional divisions and access to confidential information within ERP systems. Until then this could only be checked sporadically and in retrospect. ‘Hans-Martin was the first person to take the plunge and purchase a subscription. From then on we grew.’

ExperimentationBy now, Kanters and his team have digitized seventeen KPMG services which are offered as subscriptions under the name SOFY. All applications have the same basic components, such as reporting, workflow notifications, interfacing, etc. ‘We use that same basic structure again and again,’ says Kanters, ‘so technically we have a single product. Marginal costs remain so low that we are able to experiment. We are now able to bring tools to market that provide added value to a smaller set of customers.

SOFY operates on two levels: process improvement and compliance issues. When a possible improvement or risk is detected, it is linked to a workflow that forces improvements. Customers and their information systems are connected to the cloud, enabling services to be provided in real-time and giving customers direct insight into their circumstances. Kanters: ‘I’m convinced that most of our current services are going to be provided through this type of platform. Until now, KPMG primarily sold consultancy services through traditional channels. SOFY is available as a subscription model.

Fundamental trendsKanters expects relations in the consultancy market to change significantly in the new few years. The balance between “the big four” is going to be disrupted, he is convinced. ‘I believe that we’re focusing on the right trends by digitizing our portfolio of products. Because we’re doing this in a cloud model, it is accessible all the time and from anywhere.’

‘My dream is to make most of KPMG’s services globally accessible through a single platform,’ says Kanters, ‘It will not be successful if all the services are

completely separate. The future is the platform concept. Based on that idea we will create an enormous community of customers and then the network effect

ancy is a single platform

will kick in. Knowledge and experience in the area of consulting are valuable because they reach multiple customers and situations to whom we then try to offer our services through SOFY.’

RevolutionaryAccording to Kanters, what is revolutionary about the SOFY applications in relation to the competition is not just the fact that previously these digital solutions did not even exist in the form that KPMG offers. It is also that the solutions can be compiled more or less to suit each individual customer. ‘Organizations only use 50 to 60 percent of the functionality in software they purchase. We develop the 90 percent they actually need. Why would you buy a Porsche if you don’t need one?’

Change billing

forever

In addition to the exchange of invoices, the platform has a validation and accounting robot. This helps organizations to validate incoming invoices with legal requirements and purchase requests. The accounting robot helps to automate the booking of invoices, e.g. by recognizing and adding the correct cost center and general ledger code before forwarding the booking to the financial system.

The platform’s strength is the accounting robot. This intelligent robot processes your invoices automatically in terms of general ledger and cost entries. In addition, invoices are always processed according to the correct code in the accounts.

Thanks to Invoice Automation, processing invoices will never be the same again. It will become faster and more accurate. More than that: results are already showing that organizations are saving an average of 50% on their costs thanks to the accounting robot.

How will your organization benefit from InvoiceSharing?

• Invoices will be booked more quickly and accurately than before

• Cost reduction due to advanced automation

• Fast approval of invoices by application

• Payment per invoice

Invoice Automation

Booking invoices is always a painstaking job. It’s often done manually which makes it time-consuming, expensive, inefficient and susceptible to error. In today’s world however, there is a better way. KPMG and InvoiceSharing offer a platform for exchanging e-invoices that includes an intelligent accounting robot for automatic invoice processing.

The most efficient, accurate and affordable way to process invoices

KPMG works in collaboration with InvoiceSharing; InvoiceSharing’s solutions are not available for KPMG Audit clients.

The Mortgage Management solution consists of a module that reports on and analyzes your portfolio. Users can perform their own analyses and collect information from the data. What makes this software solution unique is that it allows you to zoom in on specific segments of the portfolio — even down to the level of specific individual loans.

The basic module can be expanded with additional modules. These focus on valuations, benchmarking, amortization, IFRS 9, security and PD/LGD/Cure rate. Take for example the valuation module. This is a calculator that also performs a valuation of the portfolio. This information is helpful for determining further analyses.

Having a variety of modules makes Mortgage Management flexible. It gives you access to the specific aspects of

KPMG’s knowledge and expertise that are relevant for your organization. The platform is a standard SaaS solution. It is cloud-based and therefore scalable, works on a variety of devices and the basic module can be implemented within three days.

How will your organization benefit from Mortgage Management?

• Gain easy and detailed insight in your loan portfolio

• Flexibility in performing analyses and compiling reports

• Proactive loan management thanks to ongoing monitoring of the portfolio and assessment of new loans

• Your organization’s needs are key in setting up the solution

Mortgage ManagementChanges in legislation and new stakeholders compel organizations to acquire better insight into their loan portfolios. What does your portfolio contain? How is it performing? What are its risks and revenues? These are questions you must be able to answer. KPMG’s Mortgage Management helps credit providers, portfolio managers and investors use the available data to acquire insight and answers.

Taxpower

Tax Intelligence Solution

Financial administrations contain more and more data spread across various modules in different ERP systems. This makes it increasingly difficult for companies to gather relevant insights. At the same time there is pressure to deliver more while cutting costs and working more efficiently with fewer resources.

Encouraging judicious fiscal decision-making and operation on a global scale, requires a solution that is capable of managing information overload. Tax Intelligence Solution is just such a solution: an integrated suite of indirect taxation technologies, methodologies and insights.

It provides you with factual insights into compliance in multiple jurisdictions, signals fiscal opportunities and risks. For example, an analysis of incoming invoices might show that by managing VAT differently, the opportunity arises to reclaim a percentage of VAT. Or an analysis of outgoing invoices might expose a risk of being fined for an erroneous VAT percentage.

These software solutions also help you to be compliant worldwide, to monitor accuracy, to increase working capital and to create new corporate value for the fiscal organization. As a result, Tax Intelligence Solutions will quickly earn back its own value for the organization.

How will your organization benefit from Tax Intelligence Solution?

• Early factual insight into risks and opportunities in the compliance process

• Insight into potential fiscal savings and improvements to systems and processes

• Valuable insights into the global supply chain

• Reports presenting clear overview of fiscal information

• Transparent data, enabling improved decision making

KPMG’s Tax Intelligence Solution helps you sort through financial systems and administrations to discover and create new opportunities that quickly earn back its own value for the organization. For instance in the areas of indirect taxation, VAT, Customs & excise and other tax-related risks.

Turn data into insights and fiscal opportunities

Contractmonitor is a software application that allows you to store and manage all your contacts in one place, and where you can assign roles and responsibilities to match the level of control that you require. It helps you to invoice or renew contracts at the right time and provides you with the insights you need to drive your performance.

Using dashboards, you can obtain insight into total levels of turnover, remaining budget resources and expected end-of- year exploitation. This enables you to manage budget risks more effectively and to take pre-emptive action when there is a risk of overextending or underexploiting the budget.

This solution also makes it easier for you to delegate responsibilities per contract, type of contract and contract party. Employees only have access to contracts that relate to their activities. Personalized tasks and alerts help you to meet contractual invoicing obligations on time.

How can your organization benefit from Contractmonitor?

• Get fast and easy insight into your care contracts

• Always stay updated on budget exploitation

• Only give authorized persons access to relevant contracts

• Receive remuneration for care delivered

Contractmonitor

Following changes to the care system in 2015, the number of contracts between care providers and municipalities has risen significantly. In addition, contracts and budget limitations are becoming more and more varied. This makes it increasingly difficult to maintain an overview and creates the risk that care, which is delivered, is not remunerated.Contractmonitor allows care providers to keep control over their contracts.
