De eerste zonnige lentedagen van 2015 zijn een feit. Doen ze u ook zo hunkeren naar de zomer? Misschien bent u al volop uw zomervakantie aan het plannen. Of besteedt u dat plannen voorlopig vooral aan het klimaatactieplan voor uw gemeen-te? In dat geval herinneren wij u graag aan ons aanbod voor gemeenten die het Burgemeestersconvenant ondertekenden. Zo’n klimaatactieplan schudt u niet zomaar uit uw mouw. Dus zetten we u graag op het goede spoor. Dat doen we met een draaiboek en een model klimaatactieplan als leidraad en een uitgebreide inventaris van klimaatacties als inspiratiebron. Download ze vandaag nog op Alfresco. Eerste hulp bij uw participatietraject

Hoe zorgt u ervoor dat uw inwoners, bedrijven, verenigingen, scholen, … uw klimaatplan mee waarmaken? Door ze er van bij het begin, het plannen, al bij te betrekken! “Participatie” dus. Een participatie-expert van Ecolife/ BBL zal u de komende maanden helpen bij het opzetten en begeleiden van het participatietraject. De concrete afspraken hierover vielen ondertus-sen in uw mailbox.

Heeft u een klimaatproject, maar geen middelen om het uit te voeren? Goed nieuws dan, want we werken aan een fi nan-cieringsstrategie voor lokale klimaatplannen. Stel uw gemeentelijk klimaatproject (renovatie, energie-effi ciëntie bij kmo’s, mobiliteit) kandidaat als pilootproject.

Flemish Brabant has evolved into a unique con-centration of knowledge institutions and compa-nies. Take knowledge city by excellence Leuven, with its university, the university colleges, the university hospital, the numerous spin-offs and the renowned imec research centre. Key enabling technologiesThese technologies are the basis for many innovative appli-cations and help find solutions for societal challenges. In our 5 spearhead clusters, these technologies and the knowledge centres play an important role as well.

Nanotechnology imec is the largest independent nanotechnology and nanoelectronics research centre in Europe. It employs over 2.050 people from all over the world.

Micro- and nanoelectronics Besides imec, there is also the Leuven Center on Informa-tion and Communication Technology (LICT) that performs top research in this field. And DSP Valley unites companies and knowledge institutions in a European ‘cluster of excel-lence’ in Smart Electronic Systems.

Photonics The science and technology of light, that is what the Brussels Photonics Team (B-PHOT) of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) performs pioneering research in.

Advanced materials The KU Leuven Materials Research Centre (LMRC) researches new materials. And the KU Leuven is a key partner in the European Institute of Innovation & Technology (EIT) ‘Raw Materials’.

Biotechnology KU Leuven and VUB host important departments of the Flemish biotechnology institute. Besides this cutting-edge research, the knowledge province of Flemish Brabant also boasts numerous innovative companies in this field.

Advanced production technologies Mainly 3D printing applied in the medical sector with world players such as Materialise and 3D systems Layerwise.
